"Y'know that I can beat them for you, Sam."
I forced out a chuckle as I look up at the sky where clouds formed in different shapes. It looks so peaceful. I wish that it could be that peaceful in my life.
"I appreciate it but... "
"But you decline." Leo finished with a sigh. I took a fistful of grass as I narrowed my eyes at the sky as if it was the one who offended me.
"Yeah... " I choked out the words. "You must think of me as a stupid moron for being so soft on them."
"Hey, hey, hey..." Hayley placed a hand on my shoulder, squeezing it for comfort. "No sad thoughts, okay? We don't think that you're stupid for doing this."
"But still." I pushed further. "I still want to forgive them."
"You should never forgive them ever---OOF!"
Hayley slapped the back of Leo's head in irritation. Leo whined and then glared at Hayley.
"What was that for? What I said is true! They've been hard as their balls and what they need is someone to kick that ball into mush because hell, it's so big that we all know that it became disgusting."
Disgusting example and I do not seriously want to imagine Leo doing it but okay.
"Try looking deeper into their point of view!" Hayley explained. "I'm aware of what they've done but the damage is already finished. We can't do anything about it."
"We can." Leo defended. "We can show them that they're wrong."
What Leo said was true but can I really do that? Can I really show them that they're wrong? Show them where their pride can put them through?
I've been an insecure jerk because of this.
"Show them? Then what, Leo? After they noticed their mistakes, then what? Can you really make sure that they'll change? Open your eyes, Leo. Sure, you can show them that you're serious about not forgiving them but you don't know how much they loved this Lydia, how wide their sacrifices they've placed for this girl. Do you really think that showing that they're wrong can really change them in a jiffy?"
I know that both of them are right. I know that. The other wants pacifism and the other wants to take action, both are right, but what's really the true answer?
Leo growled. "That's why life is full of risks, Hayley! You won't know unless you try."
"Leo, I understand what you're trying to say. I do, I really do, but her family's slowly crumbling into pieces, do you really want to take a risk? Do you really want to take that risk?"
"If they really love her then they wouldn't let that happen!"
Then suddenly, two of them closed their mouths. They look at me like they're waiting for a reaction.
I smiled at both of them.
Those simple words. Those simple words that looks so simple but feels so heavy. So painful. Hayley's true, my family's crumbling and no one's trying to put it back into pieces because what?
They don't love me anymore?
I'm not worth to save?
What they both said was true.
It's so true.
"Hey, don't pressure her. She's got enough on her plate."
I look from behind me and frowned. "Gabriel? Why--"
"Just looking out for you." He stated simply, still standing to where he is.
"You don't need to." I huff, glaring at him. "I can take care of myself."
