it's been two days since michael last saw lauren, and he felt as if she was ashamed to show her face. she had told him about how she lost her family's love and respect, and it started because she had a boy in the house. they were actually studying, but her dad called her a slut and other shit that michael didn't want to think about.

just as michael arrived to seven eleven, he saw the bright lights shining, and lauren pushed against a wall, making out with some guy. this foreign feeling came to him, but regardless, he didn't bother her, he went straight into the store. "michael?"

he automatically regret walking in, as he saw his half sister, tyla. "mikey!"

"don't." michael chuckles bitterly, stopping her from trying to hug him. "don't."

'why? i haven't seen you in years, mikey."

"it's michael to you, and it's all your guys' fault!" he tries keeping his voice low. shaking his head, he turns to the door, walking into the parking lot, being stopped by tyla. "what?"

"michael, it's mom's birthday. im sure she wants you there." tyla small smile turns into a frown when michael shakes his head.

"she celebrated two other birthday's without me, i'm sure she can last."

"we spent years looking for you, michael!" tyla exclaims. "you left! you left us!"

"because all of you are stuck up dickheads!" michael exclaims back. "karen hates me, daryl is a cheating asshole, a-and you're not even my fucking sister."

"yes i am, we have the same mom."

"karen isn't my mom," michael shakes his head, wishing this wasn't happening right now. "you're not my sister, or half sister. daryl or pete isn't my father."

"yes she is, and you can't avoid it!"

"i have for three years."

"you're going to have no one, michael. you're going to be lonely, just please come to adelaide with me? it wont hurt to visit." tyla tries, trying to yell. she was crying a bit, trying to make michael feel bad, but it wasn't working.

"no." he simply states. "but you can tell karen i said happy birthday."

tyla doesn't even try, she just gets in her car, and drives off. michael breaks down, on the curb where he usually sits, wishing that he wasn't even alive at this point. everything in my life is so damn complicated.

"michael?" lauren softly mumbles, sitting next to him. "are you okay?"

he continues crying in his arms, not wanting a girl to see him cry. "michael, look at me." he shakes his head, then she stands up. the guy she was currently sucking faces with had left, as she went to get a slurpee.

she only paid for it because it was for michael, not to mention that was her last three dollars. when she sits down, michael wipes his eyes, and stares down at the concrete. "here, this should cheer you up."

he looks at the slurpee, laughing. "yeah, thank you." he smiles, hugging her. they stay that way, until she feels michael's hand trail up her back.

"what are you doing?" she asks, pulling away.

"i didn't know putting my hand on your back was bad." he chuckles. he then thinks back to what she had mentioned. "oh, i'm sorry lauren, i-"

'it's okay, michael." she smiles, sliding closer, and putting her head on his chest. it took a while before michael actually got the courage to put his arm over her shoulder. in that moment, lauren and michael both forgot about the bad things in life.

they had each other, and that's all they really needed.
