michael wanted his day to be productive, so after he and lauren ate breakfast, they left out. calum had paid michael already for helping him hide the weed, so michael has more than one thousand dollars, and nothing to do with it. "wanna go to the mall?" michael asks.
"sure." lauren smiles, hiding her frown. i don't have money for the fucking mall, she sighs, and just follows after michael. "you need a car."
"we're borrowing luke's." michael chuckles, knocking on luke's door. he comes to the door half undressed. "dude, can i have your car keys?"
"you could've grabbed them yourself." luke scowls, running back up the stairs to the girl on his bed. lauren was laughing as michael grabbed the keys.
"he's the pig." michael jokes, closing the door and going to luke's black range rover. they get in, settling for a moment before he drives off. green day's american idiot blasted through the speakers, both of them smiling. "the guys and i wanted to be a band once."
lauren looks at him in disbelief, and he chuckles. "i'm serious. i play guitar, ashton can drum, luke is the lead singer including a guitarist, and calum is the bassist. not to mention, we all can sing."
"you know i don't believe you, right?"
"alright, whatever."
as soon as they got to the mall, michael parked and hopped out of the car. lauren was behind him, the car locking from the button on the key. the two walked in, lauren grabbing his arm, trying not to lose him from the large crowd leaving out. "where do you want to go?" he asks.
"i don't have any money, so i don't care." she keeps a positive smile, even though she just want to hide in a corner.
"i'm buying," michael grins. "lets go to hot topic."

michael and lauren ended up at seven eleven, michael buying a large slurpee that they're sharing because he also bought alcohol. they visited calum at his new house, helping him move things in, and bought some weed.
as of now, lauren was deep in thought since she was high and drunk, michael giggling to himself thinking of random shit eight year olds would think about. "do you ever wonder what it would be like if we hadn't turned out like this?" lauren asks.
michael's smile faded. "no, but i think we would be successful, and we wouldn't have never met. i do wish we would've met in a nicer way, and i apologize for calling you a bitch."
"i'm sorry for smacking you." she giggles, turning his face to look at the cheek she hit. "i can't see shit, and my vision is so blurry right now."
michael thought lauren was going to scream at him, spazz on him when he did this. she didn't, she simply fell into the kiss, wrapping her arms around his neck, moaning a little at michael's cold fingertips grazing against the skin of her back. "lauren," michael whispers, pulling her onto his lap.
it was kind of obvious michael liked her in a way he thought he wouldn't, but lauren didn't realize it. she thought this was turning into sex, then she's off on her own again. michael pulls away, feeling lauren's hand on his thigh. "i don't want to go that far with you." he whispers, looking up in her eyes.
"why? am i not enough?" she asks, her attitude rising already.
"no!" michael rushes. "i-i like you a lot, and i don't want sex to ruin it."
lauren was speechless. "you can't like me, im not-"
michael kisses her again, making her shut up. "if you don't feel the same way, we can still be just friends."
she pondered, not knowing her own feelings toward the red headed boy. "i-i need to go."
michael sat there, watching lauren run off. his heart was pounding hard, and then a crack of thunder went off, pouring rain started. he didn't move, he sat there, watching cars rush to get home, people running, several building lights shutting off.
"sir, do you want to come inside?" the cashier was a woman, about twnety-three. michael was just going to sit in the rain, the rain hiding the tears falling from his face, but when he saw the woman his mind changed.
