"It's his birthday, he's probably just spending it with his family." Leila shrugs.

"It wasn't his birthday yesterday. Or the day before that." Aaron scoffs. "Face it, he has no reason not to see El, he's just being a dick."

After my day spent with Aaron yesterday I guess he thought it would be a good idea to come over again today. This time bringing Leila with him. She keeps asking where he went despite the countless amount of times I said I don't fucking know. She keeps making up excuses for him, probably trying to make me feel better about this but it's not working. Either way he left me and he's not coming back.

"It doesn't really matter guys." I sigh. I don't really want to talk about this right now.

"It does. He's a fucking dickhead if he doesn't want Ella, look at her." Aaron gestures over to me and I feel my cheeks heat up for some reason. It's been quite awhile since he gave me a compliment, and none like that. And especially in front of another person.

"It's not that he doesn't want her, he's been out of juvie for four days. He could've gotten in trouble or something I mean he could've robbed a convenience store, he probably has no money. Or he could've gotten lost I mean he hasn't been outside in almost five years. I'm just saying we shouldn't start jumping to conclusions. We don't know that he just decided not to come back." Leila explains.

She's right, I mean she could be. I doubt on his second day out of the detention centre he robbed a place but there are other possibilities. He could've gotten lost, I mean all these houses on this block look the same and they're all hidden by these stupid massive gates on top of that. Then again I don't want to make excuses for him. I don't want to make myself feel like there's a specific reason he didn't come when in reality he could actually just have not wanted to come back.

"I say, you go to his house and just demand to see him. Like knock down the door until you see him." Leila shrugs.

"I can't do that, I don't even know where he lives." I shrug. "I can't go knocking on his door and shouting like a crazy person on his birthday. He probably just wants to be with his mom he hasn't seen her in four years."

"Well that can't be true, didn't she visit him? I mean it's her son." Leila asks.

"Well once he told me he didn't have a father and his mom didn't give a shit. Then he told me and Aaron that he had never had any visitors before us." I shrug. It's sad that in four years me and Aaron were the only two people to visit him. Not even his family, or friends. Then again all his friends are probably in juvie themselves.

"I don't know why we're talking about him, he's a dickhead and if he didn't care enough to come back to Ella then she shouldn't go running to him." Aaron says.

"Fuck off Aaron this isn't your decision to make if Ella cares about him then she'll want to know what happened to him."

"Who even said she cares about him!"

"Hey!" I scream. Stopping their stupid argument. "I can make up my own mind. I know my own feelings and I don't want you guys arguing over something that has nothing to do with you."

"It has something to do with us, if it has something to do with you because we're your friends." Aaron grabs my face between his hands making me face him.

"I agree with him, in a like none creepy way he put it though." Leila laughs, and Aaron flips her off letting go of my face.

"Ella we just don't want you to get hurt, like we want to see you happy." Aaron presses.

"Why can't you tell Shawn makes her happy." Lelia scoffs.

"You guys are discussing my feelings like I'm not even here." I roll my eyes.
