"You're kidding, right?"
"Hahaha no, I'm not kidding man, why?" Jeff asks as we take a seat at a small table at Roxy's.
"Is she back from holidays already?"
"Well, Thanksgiving is long gone now, Eddie"
"Shit" I snort going through the pages of the menu, without reading anything.
"What's wrong? Don't you like her?"
"To say that I don't like her is an understatement"
"Uhm I didn't have the chance to talk to her so much, she seems cute though" Jeff says as he looks around to find our waitress friend.
"Sure, she is cute. And that's it, nothing else"
"Come on, poor Violet, you only talked to her once"
"And it was more than enough"
"Hahahaha what did she do to you?"
"She did nothing, she's just... she's clingy, she's a silly goose and she's stuck-up. I'm sorry I'm telling you because she's Laura's friend but..."
"Well I'm sorry too, but Laura and the goose will come to see us practise today" Jeff giggles.
"Fuck... can I not come to practice today?"
"No"
"I tried" I shrug.
"Come on, I don't want to be the Mike of the day but... you could use some distraction, at least... ehm... she could be of help"
"There's nothing that girl can help me with, I can assure you. Ok, I need a big breakfast and a lot of caffeine to face this day"
"If only Santa's helper moved her ass!" Jeff says loud as Angie's walking to our table, after refilling the coffee cup of an old man sitting behind us.
"Hey! Who do we have here! Good morning Chip'n'Dale, can I help you?"
"Oh you're here, I didn't see you!" Jeff steals the coffee pot from her hands and pretends to make me drink straight from it.
"Stop it Jeff," Angie grabs the pot again "just wait a second"
"What? What's she doing now? Going away? The service is really disapponting in here, I wanna talk to the owner!" Jeff loudly makes fun of her.
"Come on, stop it" I tell him holding a laugh.
"Hey, whose side are you on, uh?"
"I'm back! So, have you decided yet, Starsky?" Angie gets back to our table, without the pot but with pen and notepad in her hands.
"Uhm let's see... I'll take the chocolate cake" Jeff answers closing the menu in front of him.
"Do you also want cream and chocolate syrup on it?"
"Of course, that goes without saying"
"And you Eddie?" she asks me with her well known smile. I stare at her in silence and probably look mentally ill, I wake up after a few seconds.
"Oh yeah, uhm... I'll take blueberry pancakes with blueberry maple syrup"
"Excellent choice" she says writing down.
"And coffee a go go for both, we need it. Especially Eddie, he's gonna have a hard day" Jeff adds laughing.
"Really? Why? Oh did you find a job maybe?"
"Ehm no, not yet. Jeff was talking of..."
"By the way, talking about jobs, I took the liberty of doing something for you"
