"Mom, what's going on" I asked her while facing her and she just shook her head at me.
"Your father just packed up all his stuff and I don't think he's coming back" Mom said and I just rolled my eyes. I was about to walk back to the couch I was sitting on when mom grabbed my arm.
"You need to convince him not to leave. We need him" Mom urged me and I rolled my eyes at her while pulling my arm away from my mother.
"We don't need him. In fact, I know we would be so much better without him" I commented to her and Mom just sighed.
"He owns everything. If he leaves, then we would be left with nothing" Mom announced to me and Autumn just nodded her head urging me to go home with my mother. I sighed while slowly gathering my items.
"I'll meet you there" I told my mother while I put my backpack on my back before hopping on my bike. Mom went back into her car and started driving. Autumn was waving bye at me wishing me good luck. I just nodded my head at her. I started peddling down and I saw my dad's car trunk was opened and boxes was being filled up in the trunk.
"Dad" I called him and Dad just stared at me. That's when I saw his mistress sitting in the passenger seat. "You can't leave."
"Why the hell not?" He said harshly. "You don't even like me at all. I know you wished I was dead."
"Mom needs you" I told him while folding my arms across my chest. "She can't survive without you and you leaving with your mistress not cool in the slightest bit. I didn't rat you out to mom even though I could have. You owe me and I want you to stay" I turned around and entered my house and Mom stood up from the couch asking me what happened. I shrugged my shoulders. The door opened and my dad came waltzing in while he started putting boxes in the entry way. Mom had a huge smile on her face and I sighed because I wasn't lying. I see how my mother would crumple without my dad around. She is dependent on him. I walked back to my bedroom and I sighed once more. I walked outside of my balcony hoping that the fresh air would calm me and it did. I sat on the ground of my balcony, just breathing in and out. I needed a new life and fast. I started tapping on the railing while humming a little bit.
"It's quite cold outside" I heard a voice and I turned around and there stood Evan. I just smiled at him. "Your mom let me in, we kind of paired up in a group project."
"Oh okay" I told him. Evan sat down next to me while our feet was hanging off the balcony.
"So" Evan was rubbing his hands together. I raised an eyebrow at him.
"What are you doing here" I asked Evan and Evan just shrugged his shoulders.
"I know I haven't actually spoken to you until this year and that was a big mistake. You are one of the coolest people I known," Evan smiled at me and I felt the blood rush to my cheeks.
"Thanks" I told him and I heard yelling and I flinched, I hated new people hearing how my parents could never get along.
"If it makes you feel better, my parents like to burn each other items when they get into fights but lucky for me they are divorced" Evan nudged me and I just nodded my head at him.
"My parents throw glass at each other" I confessed to him and it turned into silence neither one of us saying anything at all. Evan got up from the ground of the balcony and handed me his hand. I grabbed his hand, it was warm not at all cold or freezing. Evan smile was beaming and I just looked down at my feet. We didn't say anything. Evan was pretty close to my face. I didn't know anything in this moment because, how could I? I knew that Evan was pretty attractive but I'm not gay. I could appreciate his attractiveness though. Evan coughed loudly before walking away from my personal space.
