The next day of school, I found myself rushing to see Autumn by her locker. She was smiling at me and I smiled back at her.
"Hey guess what" I exclaimed to her and Autumn raised an eyebrow up.
"What" Autumn asked me and I just stared at her.
"I'm on the lacrosse team officially" I told Autumn and Autumn nodded her head. I didn't know if she was happy for me or not.
"Congrats Lyric" Autumn stated while slamming her locker door closed. I didn't even know why Autumn was upset. I mean I heard the rumors but come on those were just rumors. Autumn was always strong and plus she never cared about anyone before. I did feel really bad about but there was nothing I could do. I just watched as Autumn walked away from me and I headed to my very first practice of the season. I changed into a pair of shorts and a t-shirt. I saw Pace sitting on the bench just listening to some music. I tapped his shoulder and Pace removed his earphones.
"Hey" Pace smiled at me and I smiled back at him. "Excited for practice" Pace asked me and I nodded my head.
"Yup, really excited" I said to Pace before Coach called me over and I walked over to him. I was now on the field doing several plays with my other teammates. I thought I was actually doing well. I got a chance to take a break from doing the plays for the team and I saw Pace rushing to his goalie spot. He stopped every single goal from going in. I felt some part of me be proud of him. I was drinking some water when Tony came up to me.
"Hey" Tony greeted me.
"Hi" I replied to Tony before taking another sip of water. Tony didn't say anything but I saw him watching Pace with a smile on his face. I knew that Tony was indeed proud of Pace for doing well as a goalie.
"I didn't want him to play lacrosse but he's good" Tony confessed to me and I just stared at him not sure what to say exactly.
"I figured that much Tony. He's not you Tony. He's his own person and he actually cares about what you think" I patted Tony's shoulder and Tony turned to stare at me in the eyes.
"Thank you for driving home and helping him practice" Tony told me and I nodded my head.
"He reminds me of me when I was younger" I confessed to Tony and Tony just smiled at me.
"I do love my brother. I know sometimes it seems that I don't but I guess I wanted to be the only who succeeds at sports but Pace is good and I have to deal with that" Tony rubbed the back of his neck. I just didn't know what to say.
"I don't have any siblings" I told Tony and Tony just stared at me.
"Do you ever wished you had siblings" Tony questioned me and I shrugged my shoulders.
"Sometimes but I wouldn't want my sibling to be in the house with my parents" I said to Tony before plopping my water bottle down on the bench before going over back to practice the drills with Pace as my goalie. I wasn't only doing drills as a midfield but as well as attacker the person who scores goals. It had been a long hour of practice but I was so ready to go home and rest. I still had homework to do actually. Tony stopped me from going into the locker room. I just waited for him to say something to me.
"Tony" I said to him and Tony sighed.
"How's Autumn" Tony asked me and I rolled my eyes at him.
"If you care so much about Autumn just talk to her. She is not going to bite your head off" I replied to Tony and Tony sighed.
"She's so strange actually" Tony told me and I rolled my eyes.
"We all a little strange and by the way don't insult my best friend Tony. I will not hesitate to hurt you. Got it" I told him before entering the locker room while changing into my own clothes. I grabbed my backpack before Pace grabbed my arm and I just stared at him.
