A lot can change in such a short amount of time let's just say that my senior year was going well. I was still friends with Autumn, which always seemed to shock me. I still don't know why to this day that I still find it strange. I guess me and Autumn just instantly clicked in every way. I had decided to try out for the lacrosse team which hadn't been a surprise to many people in the slightest bit. That Tony guy I had hung out with at that party one time, was so happy to see me at the try outs. There were numerous guys trying out but I was far from being scared in the slightest bit. I wasn't scared of some high schoolers. I defeated the titans when I was just measly a weakling 13-year-old. I wasn't going to let anyone or anything stop me from becoming a lacrosse player in honor of Evan. I know I should want to do it for me but I really didn't care at that moment. Tony wasn't the captain anymore since he graduated from high school but let's just say he was now helping the coach with the team because I guess Tony didn't have anything better to do but who was I to judge. My life really did change actually and I was happy at least a little bit. I was still planning on taking down Olympus but it wasn't like I was ever to tell anyone else. There was no way Autumn would ever actually believe that Olympus actually existed and these gods are not just fiction but actually real as real as me and you. The weather was sunny and there was a cool breeze coming every other way. I adjusted my helmet while bouncing up and down. I held the stick in my right hand and I was feeling excitement building up inside of me. I actually did feel like I did belong here on this field. I watched the first group playing and I was in the second group. There was a camera filming the group, I think so the coach could watch every player individually so he could judge them accurately. I was now sitting on the bench when I saw Tony on the bench next to me. He smiled at me.
"I hope you are good Lyric" Tony stated to me and I just smiled at him.
"You know I am" I responded to Tony with a cheesy smile placed on my face.
"Good because I really want you to make it on the team. Lyric I like you and I have been talking to Coach since last year when I heard that you were going to try out for the team" Tony patted my shoulder and I just nodded my head.
"I need something to do after school since Autumn is doing all of these activities" I shrugged my shoulders a bit.
"How is she" Tony asked me and I raised an eyebrow up at him. I always knew that Tony had this thing with Autumn. He liked her more than a friend but he never admitted to anyone. I wasn't going to judge him but I like to protect Autumn from everyone and anyone who hurt.
"She's fine" I said to Tony and Tony was about to open his mouth to say something to me but the coach blew his whistle signally it was time to switch the groups on the field. I went on the field. I stood in the middle of the field. The grass was green and nicely mowed. It smelled fresh and outdoors. It felt like the field was my home, I couldn't help but wonder was this how Evan felt on this field like he actually belonged there. I picked up the ball and move swiftly through the other players tossing the ball to the other players and we scored without stopping anyone. Another guy high-fived, he was smiling at me.
"You are good" The guy said to me and I smiled at him.
"Thanks, I'm Lyric" I introduced myself to him and he shook my hand.
"I'm Pace" He said to me and I just stared at him. He was rubbing the back of his neck with nerves. He reminded me of a younger version of myself.
"So what position do you hope you get" Pace asked me and I just shrugged my shoulders.
"I'm hoping I get whatever position as long as I'm on the team" I gave Pace a small smile. "What do you hope you get?"
"I guess I'm hoping I get the same position that Tony had to make my parents proud" Pace shrugged his shoulders and that's when it clicked to me. Pace was Tony's younger brother, man they looked like complete opposites.
