"What" I exclaimed to Apollo who was pacing back and forth while pushing his hair back. "What is a prophecy" I asked him and Apollo just grabbed my shoulders.
"I need to take him to Olympus" Apollo turned to face my mother and mom just shook her head.
"You are not taking my son away from me" Mom said to Apollo and Apollo just glared at my mother.
"Really because you can train him to beat monsters and creatures that will be after him. He's my son too" Apollo said to my mom harshly and mom just sighed and stared at me.
"I'm not going anywhere" I told him and Apollo just sighed before urging me and mom to sit down on the bed.
"The prophecy is this" Apollo cleared his throat. "The offspring of the god of music, will face his inner demons and will have to fight his way to survive through the depths of hell." Apollo said in one breath and I looked at my mother.
"I mean that could be anyone of your children since you have so many" I commented to him while getting a water bottle from the fridge.
"That's beside the point, Lyric, you are going to be targeted more since your powers came out. The monsters and creatures can smell you from a mile away and you don't know how much powerful you will become" Apollo grabbed my shoulders forcing me to look into his eyes. I could see the worry and the beads of sweat coming down from his forehead.
"I can't just leave. I finally have friends and people that care about me." I complained while fiddling with my hands.
"You will back before you know it. I just need to prepare you for what the prophecy is stating. If you don't learn how to control your powers then you will be doomed before you know it" Apollo sighed but not removing his hands from my shoulders.
"What does the prophecy even mean" I asked him and Apollo sighed while shaking his head.
"It means you will have to go through hell in order to save yourself" Apollo was just pacing back and forth. "You will have to counter Hades and trust me that is not easy. Hades is not someone you want to cross his path" Apollo continued to pace back and forth.
"What will my powers consistent of that makes you worried" I asked Apollo and Apollo just sighed while shaking his head.
"You have no idea what you are becoming and I don't know either but all I know is that I do not want to see you dead. I don't want to have to bury my son before he's an adult. I see plenty of my children die because they are stubborn and think they can handle everything in this world but this world is far from your basic mortal life." Apollo kept talking to me and I just stared at his face. This was the first time, I realized that Apollo was scared of losing his children. I wondered if his enemies figured that out and why most of Apollo children were dead because of that reason. Apollo suddenly looked so defeated and tired of trying to argue with me and how much he wanted me to come with him. I looked down at my feet and then at my hands. I looked at my mother. I was scared of these powers that I somehow possessed in the first place.
"Okay, I'll go with you Apollo" I finally said to him and mom just stood there with a sad and defeated look. We both knew that it was what was best for both of us. Mom stood in front of me while patting my shoulders. She gave me a hug and I looked at Apollo, he was looking everywhere but my mother's eyes. Mom walked in front of him and Apollo was still avoiding her eyes. Mom forced him to stare at her eyes.
"Bring my son back home because if you don't I swear to god I will ruin you" Mom glared at Apollo and Apollo just nodded his head.
"I'll wait outside" Apollo told me before leaving me and mom all alone in my room.
