I stormed off down the street after an argument with the others. Yes, going on without them was suicide but it was the only way if I wanted to win this war.
'Ambrosia, you're basically committing suicide if you go on without us!' Hikari yelled, his voice full of regret.
I turned around to face him.
'Like I care? If you guys are just gonna wait for me to give you the next order then why are you even here? I get that it's basically suicide, Hikari,' I was about to go into a full on speech,'but if it's going to protect the nation then I don't need anyone to help me.
'I get that you care about me and hate seeing me hurt, but I'm not the scared little girl I was before. I grew up, Hikari.'He stared after me as I turned on my heels and ran in the opposite direction to where he was stood.
I looked over my shoulder and called out.
'I'll see you in Metal city!' I called.
Hikari nodded and turned back to go to where the others were stood.
That was the final call, roll the credits, from then until I got to Metal City I was on my own.
I looked around at the destroyed buildings around me and felt a pang of regret. If I hadn't left Battery City then none of this would've happened, we'd still all be happy.
Except me. I would still be with Dale, putting up with him smoking and drinking alcohol.
The world fell black as the smell of smoke filled my lungs. Someone had set a fire somewhere and it was advancing towards me. I looked around and saw a wall of flames either side and the back of me. The only way was forward.
I ran towards the break in the flames just as I tripped over something on the ground.
I picked it up and got a better look at the object. It was the gem Jiin was holding the night before.
Jiin!
'Jiin!' I yelled loudly.
I looked around, my view obstructed by the quickly thickening smoke from the flames. I ran forwards to get out of the smoke.
'Hikari? Vrosvurs? Kofo? Crescentia?!' The smoke and tears were burning me and choking me. Where were the others? Why was I foolish enough to go away from them?
I heard a laugh from above me and looked up.
Ito Phlegethon was floating above me, covered in flames as his eyes glowed a menacing red.
'Ito!' I yelled,'what did you do?!'
He looked around as if he hadn't seen me.
'Who are you?' He asked me in a Russian accent.
I floated up towards him, holding a knife in case of an attack.
'Ambrosia?' He asked uncertainly.
I nodded. He knew who I was after all.
'Where is the others?' He asked me.
I shrugged, 'we had an argument and I stormed off.'
He stopped the fire which left scorch marks from where it burnt.
'Argument?' He floated to the ground with me following suit.
I nodded,'about them not doing anything until I told them what to do.'
'I understand,' he sympathised with me,'my comrades are also like that.'
I leant back against a wall and sunk to the floor, closing my eyes so the tears didn't start flowing. On top of arguing with my best friends, I had also argued with the one I loved most.
'Ambrosia, if you need to cry, cry,' Ito told me.
The first tear triggered a whole waterfall of them falling down my face, the stress and the argument had built up inside of me, causing all of these emotions to go through me. Stress, anger, sadness and a whole bunch of other emotions I've never felt before.
After five minutes of crying and moaning about the others, I stood up and looked around, making sense of my surroundings. This was a new part of Battery city that I had never seen before in my life. The buildings were huge and posh looking.
'We are in the rich area of the city,' Ito said as we walked through endless streets,'we are nearly at Torture City.'
I looked around and felt completely at home. The houses weren't too posh looking. I wandered round and came across my childhood home, still full of life if I imagined hard enough. I opened the door, expecting to find the inside scorched by the fire.
Instead it was still intact after all this fighting.
'The restoration people restored all the clan houses, that is why it's still intact,' he explained as I led him through the endless seeming corridors.
I peeped into a room and found the living room, the place where I played with Anri when we were younger.
Memories flooded back as I wandered aimlessly through corridor after corridor, peeking into every room I passed, reminiscing about better times.
This was my life now, it seemed.
Until what happened next changed everything.
