I woke up suddenly with my nightgown sticking to my back with sweat. I looked around, trying to make sense of my surroundings in the pitch black of darkness.
As I looked around, I heard the faint snoring of someone next to me. I looked over and was glad to see the familiar features of Hikari, the one who helped me win against Azurewrath in the great demon war.
20 years on and the surface is inhabitable because of how much damage he caused.
'He' is Azurewrath.
I used to be good friends with Azurewrath, you'll be surprised to know, we ruled Hell together in harmony. The four clans lived peacefully for millions of years.
Until the war.
I looked around once again and lay back down, certain of where I was and who I was with.
I tried to get back to sleep but memories of the war flooded my brain, overtaking the clock ticking for when Azurewrath would wake again. We all knew he wasn't really dead but we all pretended he was. For the humans, the kids and the demons who weren't on his side.
I swung my legs round, careful not to make a sound so as not to wake Hikari. If he knew where I was going, he'd try to stop me.
That plan failed.
'Ambrosia?' I heard a voice whisper.
I spun round and saw Hikari sitting up in bed, watching me with his steely grey eyes.
'I'm just going for a walk,' I told him.
He nodded and went back to sleep, unaware of where I was really going.
I opened the door quietly so I didn't disturb anyone in the other rooms. I was meeting someone and I had to be completely alone.
I silently slipped away out of the entrance that led to the ground above us. I looked around to make sure no one was watching and walked to the site of where the war was fought.
'You really came?' A voice asked.
'Yes I did,' I told the disembodied voice.
A crunch of leaves underfoot was followed by the voice again.
'Alone?' It asked again.
I nodded my answer, sometimes to stay alive it's best to keep quiet.
'Perfect.'
A hooded figure appeared from the shadows which were cast by the shining moon.
'Who are you?' I asked the figure.
The figure took off their hood so I could perfectly see the face of the person.
'Hello... Tia,' he said.
