Chapter Sixty-Six

Karly's POV

I quickly adapted to my new surroundings. Hayes and I both started going to public school again as high schoolers.

Matt and dad started college, Bailey and Cameron both got jobs at a local skateboard shop.

Our new school was Indiana Bay High, their mascot is a eagle and the color is purple. I made friends quickly, mainly due to who my dad was. Hayes and my friends are all friends too which really works out.

A small group with a couple guys and a couple girls.

Hayes new friends Peyton, Gabe, Connor, Weston, and Brady were all good friends with my new friends Chloe, Giana, and Hailey.

My best friend is Hailey and Hayes is Peyton. Peyton has a twin brother who is Connor. Even though Hayes is my boyfriend I had a thing for Peyton.

Peyton has sandy blond hair that almost looks brown on some angles, ocean blue eyes actaully some of the prettiest eyes I have ever seen. His light freckles made his white teeth look perfect which made his eyes stand out. His smile was more of a side smirk. He is on the junior varsity football, basketball, and track team.

I didn't quite care if Hayes got mad about Peyton because I noticed he had a thing for Hailey.

I don't blame him she's beautiful. Medium length black hair that looks good either curled or straight, perfect eyebrows, dark blue eyes, clear braces that held her perfect white teeth that made her smile pop. She had her cute little button nose, but she told me she likes Connor.

Let me explain the twins. Connor and Peyton Stevens, they don't quite look the same, i already explained Peyton but Connor had shorter hair than Peyton. Connors hair was about the length of Matts hair and Peytons was about the length of Hayes hair before he cut it.

Connor was more of the goof off, the one that got in trouble and liked to mess around. Peyton was fun too and likes to mess around but hes not as much trouble as Connor. Lots of people like the twins. Gabe is cute but I don't like him like that. Their other two friends Weston and Brady were on the uglier side, Weston is weird and gross on some levels.

This group is one for being the party animals, they have dirty minds, and make the best jokes. Weston definitely had the dirtiest mind next to Connor. Brady is a little boring, I'm not quite sure how he made it into this group of friends.

6th hour I sat next to Peyton in Math. My only hour with him. I really do like him and i know Hayes really likes Hailey which im not that jealous about it since we're both loyal and neither of us would cheat.

I stared at the back of his head as he stared at the clock. The bell rang and Peyton ran out the door which made me a little hurt that he left so fast, was it me? The last couple days he stayed and talked to me for a second after the bell rang.

When I got home from school Hayes had already beat me inside. I went upstairs to the den which is a really cool small space that has the xbox, play station, and is fill with blankets and pillows. Its basically a crawl space that has a tv and no floor because its covered with pillows and blankets.

"Should I ask out Hailey?" Hayes asked.

My heart stopped for a second, a pain filled my chest. Let me explain that as long as Hayes and I have been dating we've slowly drifted to being more of friends than boyfriend and girlfriend. Hailey always tells me it's because we never do anything, but I don't know if I'm ready for anything more.

His face turned white.

"Wait Karly" he said as I crawled out of the small door.

I ran downstairs to my room and slammed the door.

I stared out the window sobbing, was this meant to happen, that Hayes and I find new people.

"Karly please" Hayes said in a 'im trying not to cry' tone.

"What!" I yelled.

"Please just let me explain" he said in a sorry tone.

"Why don't you go explain to Hailey" i cried out without thinking.

"Karly." He said in a small cry.

A sofy "Please" slipped from the other side of the door.
