Chapter Sixty-Two

Karly's POV

Like a shark in a fish tank out stuck none other than David. Yes, the one who took me for a year, yes the one I never wanted to be with, yes the David that was my father.

I stared out the window speechless, my heart was racing and I had butterflies in my stomach, I was curious to why he was here.

I felt Hayes breathing on my heck as I stared out the cold window. He wrapped his arm around my neck.

"It will be okay just ignore him and don't make eye contact" Hayes said referring to David.

I grasped the handle to the car door and opened it. Stepping out hesitantly I ran to where Matt and Bailey were, surrounded by people.

"Hey you made it" Matt said smiling.

He gave me a side hug and a fist bump and turned back to Noah. Hayes and I both leaned over Matt's shoulder and smiled at Noah's cute like face.

I tried to avoid David, for one reason only. He still had custody over me, Im supposed to be with him not with the guys, I will only supposed to be visiting them.

I had a bad feeling that if I ran into David he would take me back to Michigan with him. When I thought I saw him coming I grabbed Hayes and ran towards a food table and hid behind it.

After a minute I peeked around to see if David was in sight. Hayes and I Helped each other up and walked.

As I turned I bumped into someone.
I looked up and saw David. I quickly looked towards where I though I saw him the first time see that it was only another family member.

"Karly, you never came back or called me" he said disappointed.
My heart wanted to jump out of my chest.

I spotted dad walking towards us from the corner of my eye. He greeted David. I wondered if the worst was to happen, having to go back with him.

"Everything okay over here" dad asked looking at everyone.

"I only wanted to say that Karly I know you don't want to live with me and that's why I'm giving full custody back to Taylor" he said calmly.

"Really?" I asked kinda excited and relieved.

"Yes, I ended up adopting a son" he said happily.

Hayes came up and hugged me from behind me. His arms hung over my shoulders, I grabbed his hands and held them in mine.
