Chapter Thirty-Three

Karly's POV

The next day we all got up early to go to the court.

It was an early Monday morning I was supposed to be heading to school but instead I was heading to a court to justify who my legal guardian will be.

Nobody smiled the whole day, it wasn't a smiley kinda day knowing that I could end up living with a man who claims to be my dead father. I could lose my real family, the family I really loved, and I mean Taylor Michael Caniff, Cameron Alexander Dallas, Hamilton Nash Grier, Matthew Lee Espinosa, and all the other guys including Mahogany. More importantly Hayes.

Hayes decided to skip school also to be there to support us.

-skipping to a couple minutes into the trial-

"Karla belongs to me, I adopted her legally, this man has no proof of being her father" Dad said.

"May I just say, I brought in my proof of being her father" the guy said holding up files and papers

the judge spent two minutes going threw the papers, my hands soaked up with sweat and my heart raced, this was probably one of the most scariest moment of my life.

"Ladies and gentlemen this mans proof is accurate, Karla's real dad is David Williams meaning he has the rights to take Karla" she announced. The guy was now closer to winning me.

"I would like to have a say in this" I said standing up. I don't know what I'm thinking but I'm not going to go with this guy.

"Karly's please" dad whispered signalling me to sit back down.

"No, go ahead she has the right to speak" the judge said letting me speak.

"This man might be my birth father but I don't want to go with him, I should have the right to say I don't want to live with Mr. williams" I said trying to be professional yet convincing.

"Karla is only 14, our rule is she must be 18 to have a say in where she wants to go, legally she belongs to Mr.Williams"

"Come on karla looks like you're coming with me" my so called dad said.

A big lump grew in my throat, I started crying and so did the guys. They were taking us away from each other and there was nothing we could do about it.

I ran into dad's arms and held him tight as I balled my eyes out. Dad also cried and so did Matt, Nash, Hayes, and Cam.

We had one big group hug where we held each other tightly.

We lost and I was going home with a guy I didn't know. My heart was shattered. Hayes came up to me and grabbed me, I held him tightly. We both sobbed knowing it was over.

"goodbye Hayes" I choked out, Hayes was going to be in California and I was going to be all the way in Michigan across the country.

"I love you" he cried.

"I love you too" I said back.

Hayes came in and kissed my lips.
