Step by step I get closer,
To the person walking towards me,
All movement stops,
When we're standing in front of each others feet,
Sunshine appears when our eyes meet,
There's nothing better than the smile you give me,
Redness fills my cheeks as happiness overflows my soul,
And it's all because of you,
When we first met,
The words "I'll never leave" came out of your mouth,
A strong, muscular hand slipped into mine,
That moment constantly replays in my head when you're not around,
Hours became days,
And days formed into weeks,
Time goes by quicker than I thought,
Now these weeks are months,
All of that time was spent with you,
Because slowly I fell deeper into your personality,
The traits that grasped my heart made my love for you grow,
My feelings are as vigorous as the repetitive waves that form in the ocean,
Our hugs developed into kisses,
And the compliments turned into dinner dates,
But our holding hands never changed,
Not even the joy that infused my body,
I didn't expect us to end though,
We started to argue,
Which lead to not seeing each other as much,
Until I saw you walking in town with another girl,
My whole world came crashing down,
A piece of me decayed,
And won't be returning to me ever again,
Because you made it disappear,
Tears after tears,
As my heart continued to shatter more every time you arrived in my thoughts,
Sleep wasn't relevant to me anymore,
And neither were you,
During our time together,
You were always, and I mean always texting someone else,
I didn't expect it to be another girl,
Or even your new soulmate,
The memories we created,
Were a waste of your time,
Everything I had in my life,
I got rid of just to be with you,
I was complete with you,
And I thought I didn't need anything else,
Apparently my assumption wasn't true,
Especially since you're with a different girl,
The girl who had the sunshine in her eyes,
The strong feelings for that guy,
Is now just a lonesome person,
Who replays the same moment every single day,
"I'll never leave" he said,
His muscular hand locked in mine,
Our holding of hands became non-existent,
As you lost our grip.
