Halloween. It's really a weird holiday to celebrate. Personally I hardly got celebrated it, and considering I never had a childhood, I didn't get to dress up and go trick-or-treating. Every other year, back at camp that is, Chiron would get lots and lots of candy and we would have to fight for some. Nothing to dramatic but it would be games like 'who can shoot the farthest', 'who can last the longest without dropping your sword', or 'who can beat Luke and I at a sword fight'. And then naturally we would have a game of capture the flag, and the winning team would get the rest of the candy. We haven't done that in a long time, I miss it. Anyway back to what I was saying, Halloween. The wizard world, well Hogwarts, celebrate it a little differently. It's currently dinner time and the Great Hall is decorated with floating jack-o-lanterns, it's usual floating candles, and real live bats. Each table is filled to the top with candy and food. The Hall is filled with the laughter and chattering of the students and the teachers. I'm sitting between Draco and Courtney at the Slytherin table, happily eating some candy while listening to one of the older kids tell us a 'scary story'.

"So there I was, absolutely terrified, just watching the banshee. It was horrifying, bits of flesh in its yellow rotten teeth, bones in its matted green hair, it's ripped and blood stained clothing. It was a sight. I slowly made my way around it, but I had stepped on a stick. With neck breaking speed the thing wiped its head to me, its eyes were a piercing yellow, it screamed at me and I ran. I have never been back to that place to this day." The other first years looked at the older Slytherin boy in horror and amazement. I scoffed quietly to myself, I've been in much more horrible situations. Courtney tapped my shoulder, I turned around with questing eyes.

"I'm going to the restroom, I'll be back in a moment." I nodded, giving her an okay. She left the table and left the Great Hall. As soon as the door closed it burst open with a bang, showing a very distraught Quirrell. He looked pale, he then yelled out in terror;

"TROLL! TROLL IN THE DUNGEONS!" He glanced at the tables, and whispered one last thing before he fainted; "I thought you ought to know." he crashed into the stone floor. The Great Hall went into utter chaos. Students got up and started to run out the Hall when a demanding voice stopped all movement and sounds.

"SILENCE!" All heads looked at the old headmaster, "Prefects, direct your house to your common rooms, Professors come with me to the dungeon, and surrounding areas."

Everyone went back into motion, but more calmly. I was waking with Draco when I had a sudden thought, Courtney is in the restroom, she doesn't know about the troll. Glancing at the prefect making sure he's not paying attention, I ran to the girls restroom. When I got there I noticed it was already occupied... by a ten foot troll. The troll lifted its huge club and slammed it against the cubicles, splintering them all. Two high pitched screams were then erupted. I'm a flash I had my sword out and ready to fight.

"Oi! Smelly!" The troll turned to look at me, "leave them alone! It's me you want!" The creature let out growl and charged me, I raised my sword and struck its leg when the bathroom door suddenly opened. Two male voices were heard.

"Hermione! Smith! Move!" I wiped my head to see my cousin as his redhead friend.

"Harry! Get Courtney and Granger out here now! I'll handle the troll. Go! Now before you get hurt!" I sent my attention back to the troll, who found the two girls hiding spot.

"What? NO! Ivy come on we need to get out of here!" The dark haired boy cried. I looked back at him with a smirk.

"I can handle it scar boy, go get the others to safety, trust me this thing won't stand a chance." Turning back to the troll I ran towards it with a battle cry and dug my sword into the back of the trolls knee, but what was strange was that the blood was red, not gold. It wasn't like the other monsters I have defeated. I pushed that thought aside and activated my bow and arrows, shooting each arrow skillfully into the torso of the creature. Unsure if I should kill it or not I simply put away my bow and arrow and sword, I picked up the trolls club and threw it with all my might and knocked it out cold. Panting I realized the other students never left the room, they all gazed at me with awe. It didn't last long because to door then burst open, three professors stood there, horror and amazement was written on their faces. McGonagall was the first to speak.
