Aaliyah
Chapter 8
I grab a few clothing items from the rack, and I lay them on my arm. The fashion consultant gave me a ton of free clothing from the shoot. Even though some of it isn't really my style I know Janet would like it so I made sure I grabbed a few things for her.
"Your a size seven?" I look in the direction of one of the co stars, and I shake my head.
"It's not for me." I say not wanting to converse much with her since she's been giving me hell since I stepped on set for this movie.
"Who's it for then?" She asks trailing behind me while looking through the clothes on the rack.
"That's none of your business." I reply plainly, not allowing her noisy ass to faze me.
She steps in front of me blocking my way. "How did you get this role?" She asks leaning on the wall.
I furrowed my brows as I shift my weight onto my left leg. "Not the way you got yours, that's for sure." I grab a black blazer with spikes on it, and I smile at her. I walk over to bag everything I got, then I walk out of the building with a pep in my step.
On my way back home, I decided to call my attorney Brian. I put my Bluetooth earpiece in my ear, and I wait as it rings.
He picks up sounding a little out of breath.
"Hey Brian...I was calling to ask if you have an update on what's going on."
I hear a little bit of shuffling as his voice becomes clearer after a few seconds.
"Can you repeat that, I didn't hear you." I say as I turn down my street.
"I said I will call you back later, I'm our running right now."
I nod my head as I pull into the parking lot besides Janet's car, surprised to see she's home.
"Okay." I press end on the call, and I grab the bag filled with clothes, my purse, and my phone and I get out of the car and walk towards the front door. As soon as I was about to ring the bell she opens the door, with an apron on and a spoon in her hand.
"Hey, how was the photo shoot?" She asks as she walks back into the kitchen.
I kick the door closed as I sit the bag down in the living room chair, along with my purse.
"It was fine, got free clothes out of it." I say pulling my Sperry's off of my feet, and sitting them by the coat hanger.
"That's cool, you know I wanna see after I finish in here."
I walk into the kitchen, watching her mix something thick in a metal bowl. "Did your shopping date end early?" I ask hopping on the counter.
She sighs. "She decided she wanted to come over here for dinner, she said she didn't want to go out anymore."
"Oh."
Janet turns to look at me. "You haven't tasted my cooking yet, haven't you?"
I shake my head. "And from the way it's smelling in here I know why...it smells like ass in an alley in here."
Janet sucks her teeth, and throws a grape she grabbed from the fruit bowl at me.
"I was just playing with you. It smells nice in here."
Janet brings the spoon over with her hand underneath it. She blows onto it. "Wanna taste?"
"Is this stew beef?" I ask noticing the vegetables.
