Chapter 20

Toni

I was jumping up, and down I was so excited. Even though this was Janet's movie I still had to audition for the role. Because the casting director wasn't sure I was fit for the role until he saw me in action. I got the role, and that's all that mattered. I was too excited.

"Congratulations Toni." Janet says clapping her hands together as she came out of the building.

I ran towards her, and I literally jumped on her. "Yes...yes...yes!!" I chant as Janet spun me around.

"Okay Toni...your heavy." She laughs as she puts me down.

"Janet I got the role!" I exclaimed as I fist pumped in the air.

She nods with a huge smile on her face. "I know Toni, I know.We should go out, and celebrate....how about at Kobe's?"

"You must be paying?" I ask jokingly as I loop my arm under Janet's as we walk towards my car.

"Of course I'm paying...it's all about you today."

"That's what I'm talking about. You riding with me?"

I nod. "Yep..I didn't drive my car today, my assistant picked me up."

She unlocks her car with the remote, and we get in. "Cool...well let's role."

I strap my seat belt. "So how did it go with Aaliyah?"

Janet looks over at me with a 'Don't get me started' look on her face.

I crank up, and I drive out of the parking lot. "Well...?"

Janet exhales. "We talked for like a few seconds, then next thing you know I'm taking her clothes off. I'd admit I wanted it, but I had to stop and think about it. If we were to have sex, she would have thought that meant we were getting back together. And I do miss her, but I don't want to get back with her."

I nod. "I understand. But you could have at least got yours one last time before out opened your mouth."

I hit Toni on her arm. "I have respect for her, I wouldn't do that."

"Oww...I was just playing. " I stop at the light. And I look over at Janet.

"She doesn't want to be just friends though."

"Why?"

"Because she's attracted to me."

"And?" I ask as the light turns green, and cars start to move.

"I said if Toni can be friends with me then why couldn't you?"

"Wait...why did you have to use me as an example?" I ask glancing over at her for a quick second.

"Because Toni..."She pauses."That doesn't matter!" She snaps. "These are her exact words.

I'm attracted to you, I think your sexy, the way you walk turns me on, and even your voice turns me on...how could I be friends with someone I would think about fucking every second of the time?"

Toni starts laughing.

"What's so funny about that?"

"She must really mean it, if she was bold enough to tell you that."

"Of course she means it...that's why I said if you did it, so can she." Janet shakes her head. "I hate this feeling though."

"What feeling?"

She motions her hand in the air as if she's thinking of the right word to say. "This feeling like I have to get back with her. Something inside is telling me that I was wrong for leaving last night. And that Aaliyah, and I were meant to be together. But I just don't know."
