Chapter 13
Aaliyah
Sitting in the backseat of a limo that was sent for me to be escorted in, I rub my sweaty palms together as we approach the red carpet.
"I'm so nervous, I hope they like the movie."
Janet rests her hand on my shoulder. "You will be fine, you did an amazing job for this to be your first movie, plus your an amazing actress. People will remember you before anyone else, because your just memorable. Trust me they are going to love the movie, and their going to love you!"
I exhale deeply feeling a bit better, as she plants a kiss on the corner of my lips to prevent from ruining my lipstick.
I smile. "You being by my side will make walking out there less frightening."
And that's when the limo comes to a complete stop. My driver gets out, and walks around the car.
"Are you ready?" Janet asks.
I shake my head. "No...but It's to late to turn back now."
That's when the door opens, and my driver holds his hand out to help me out of the limo.
People start applauding as soon as I became visible. Flashes come from everywhere, and people were yelling my name. Which was very shocking, they were already yelling my name and they haven't even seen the movie yet.
But then again I let my single leaking on the Internet a week ago slip my mind. Maybe that's why they were screaming my name, because they were digging my song.
Whatever it was for, it made me feel good. Since I was a little girl I've always wanted this, and now that it's happening I couldn't even believe it.
I reached back for Janet, and I grab her hand as I walk slowly allowing people to take pictures of us.
Confused looks appeared on a few faces in the crowd when they saw how affectionate Janet, and I were as we walked closed to each other, hand in hand.
But I didn't care, sooner or later I knew the question was going to come up, so until then they will be left a wondering mind.
After the red carpet we head inside the building to go find our seats. Since I'm an actress appeared in the movie we got balcony seats.
I was too happy about that, and it made me feel so high and mighty. All this treatment I have been getting has me feeling like a real celebrity.
Our balcony seat were in the middle on the second level so we had the perfect view. We sat there as the credits began, and the room went dim.
The first scene in the movie was of me coming home from work, I had my earphones in and I was bobbing my head as I kick my sketcher shoes off. I had just come home from my morning jog.
I was so nervous being in the same room as all of these people who were watching me on the big screen. It's hard to watch myself, I get too embarrassed.
But I managed to get through the rest of the premiere without leaving to go hide in a bathroom stall. I kept thinking about how my dreams are coming true, and how everything I always wanted is happening. It motivated me to stay in the theatre.
After the premiere I was signing autographs, taking pictures with fans, and I also did an interview.
As I'm being escorted home in the back of the limo which I came in, I think about my evening and how well it went. I was anxious to read the movie reviews, and see the interview that I had done, and I was very anxious to see if my manager will get any calls for more roles. Because I've gotten a few, but their all movies I know won't make it to the theatre. And I'm not that big of a star to do that, they won't pay me well. So I knew I had to decline those.
