Sodapop// first love (Part.2)

"S-Soda?" I said. "(Y/n)? Oh my goodness it's you! It's really you !" He says. I was in shock, I couldn't believe it was really him. He got up and hugged me. "It's been 3 years, but you're here you came back and now we can be together" he says holding my hands. "Hey man, leave my girl alone" Max says. Sodapop looked confused and I looked down. "S-she's your girl?" Soda asked. "Yes, why?" Max says. Sodapop looked at me and then looked at Max. "S-sorry, I guess I'm out of the picture" sodapop says leaving. I notice that he left his book so I took it inside and went to my room. "Weirdos everywhere" Max says.

"Together forever by Sodapop" the title says. I read from page one to the 20th page. I couldn't believe he came everyday to my house to see if I'm back or not, for 3 years. "Hey sweetie, you wanna go for a walk- everything okay?" Max asked. He notice I was crying and I wiped my tears off. "No yeah I'm good, I just was reading a book" I said. Max laid next to me and hugged me. "I love you (y/n)" he says. That was the first time he's said that to me. "W-What?" I said. "I love you and everyday I keep on falling for you more and more" he says grabbing my hand.

I felt guilty because I still love Soda but I also have love for Max. "I- um- have to go unpack more stuff" I said getting up. I left down stairs and grabbed my jacket to go to the Curtis house. When I got there, I saw Ponyboy and Two-bit play fighting. I smiled and walked up the steps. I was going to knock but then Darry opened the door. "Jesus, he wasn't lying" Darry said. I smiled and Darry gave me a hug. "Who is it Darry- oh my gosh, (y/n)? It's really you!!" Pony said as he hugged me. Two-bit hugged me as well. "Where's Dally and Johnny?" I asked. They looked at each other and their smiles turned into sadness.

"W-what, w-why did or when did this happened" I said crying. "It's been 2 years already" Darry said. I couldn't believe it, both of them are gone. "Here you can read this letter Johnny saved for you" Ponyboy said giving me a letter. I read the letter and cried even more. Johnny was like a little brother to me and now he's gone. "(Y/n)? Are you okay?" Two-bit said. I shook my head and put my hands to my face. We heard the door open, it was Steve and Sodapop. "You weren't lying" Steve said to Soda. Steve hugged me and saw me crying. "What's wrong?" He asks.

"We told her about, Johnny and Dally" Darry said. Sodapop looked down and closed the door. "Oh" Steve said also looking down. "I'm sorry, I should probably go" I said getting up. "No, no, no, stay and have dinner with us" Ponyboy said. "I really have to get back to my boyfriend right now" I said. They stared at Soda, then back at me. "So you do have a new boyfriend?" Steve asked. I nodded and they all looked a bit disappointed. "Yeah, you should probably go then" Steve said. "Yeah, I'm sorry again- for everything, I'm sorry" I said then left the house.

When I got home, Max prepared a cake he always make when he sees me sad. "Hey, I noticed you left and you were sad so I made you, your cheer up cake" he says. I smiled and sat down on the chair watching Max cut a slice of the cake. "Here you go sweetheart" he says. "Thank you Max" I said. I felt weird, lost, and most of all angry with myself. I zoned out for a bit but then Max started talking to me. "So the guy that was talking to you, is he like your friend? Or something?" Max asked. I nodded and stayed quiet.

"Were you two going out or something?" he asks. I shook my head and kept on eating the cake. "Do you need anything else?" "No Max, I'm okay you should go get some rest" I said kind of in a rude way. Max nodded and left upstairs. I cried and wrote down my feeling in my journal I've been having since I left from Tulsa. I heard the telephone ring and I picked it up. "Hello?" I said. The person was silent for a bit then started talking. "H-hey, look I just wanted to say sorry for surprising you the way I did today. I just really missed you. Oh and it's Soda by the way" Soda said.

I chuckled and sighed. "It's okay Sodapop Patrick Curtis" I said. "Yeah, s-so i was wondering if you wanted to go out and catch up on our lives" Soda said. I smiled at the thought of it. "Sure, when are you free?" "Mmmm say tomorrow? A-at 12:00" "sounds good, see you then" I said. "See ya, goodnight" Soda said. "Goodnight Soda" I said putting the telephone down. I went upstairs and fell asleep. "Good morning pumpkin" Max says. "Max? What time is it?" I asked. "It's 9:00 am and we're going to make this a good day, now come on let's go" Max says pulling me out of bed.

Max took me to this beautiful lake, there were lots of flowers, bunnies, and ducks. "Oh my gosh, it's beautiful" I said smiling. "Like you" Max says holding both my hands. We got in the lake and played for a bit. Then we walked around and picked out flowers. We decided to go back home and rest. "Thank you for today Max, I had an amazing time" I said smiling at him. "I'm glad you had a great time" Max says going upstairs. I put the flowers in a vase and put them on our dinner table. I heard a knock and opened the door, it was Sodapop. "H-hey Sodapop" I said.

"Hey, am I early?" Soda asked. I was confused, early? "Early for what?" I asked. "Early for us to catch up on our lives? We made plans on the phone yesterday at night" he said. I tried remembering, then I realized I did make plans with soda. "Oh right, yeah you're early" I said. I heard Max coming downstairs and he went to the door. "Hey man, didn't I tell you to back off my girl" Max said getting closer to Soda's face. "Max stop" I said.

"Hey pal, she was my girl first" Soda said furiously. "What?" Max says. "Yeah man, way before she went to New York, she was mine then she moved away and I lost her" "Soda stop" I said trying to make him be quiet. "W-what? Is this true (y/n)?" Max asked. I looked down at the ground and nodded my head. "Yes, yes it's true" I said. Soda then went home and I explained everything to Max. "Everything makes sense now" he says. "Yep, but I'm with you now and I l-love you" I said.

Max stared at me and then looked at the ground. "But you also love him (y/n)" he says. I looked at him and grabbed both of his hands. "Max, I'm with you now. Sodapop is just my friend" "No (y/n), you may be with me right now but Sodapop was and still is your first love. I really don't want to take something that you still care about, away from you" Max says. "But-" "No (y/n), I'm going to bed" Max says as he goes upstairs to our room. I felt horrible, I knew it wasn't going to be a good idea to come back here.
