Zara's POV

"Millie! Millie! Wake the hell up!" I shout as I shake her and gently tap her face. She yawns and pushes her face into her pillow.
"5 more minutes." She croaks.
" Mills, it's almost 2 pm. And we start filming tomorrow. Do you really want to spend our day off in bed?" I call back at her.
"Fine. You're right." She says with a yawn as she gets up. "But you owe me a coffee."
"I'm always right," I smile at her as I hand her a warm Starbucks cup from the lobby. "And I already got you coffee." I finish.
"You're the best!" Millie smiles as she takes a sip. I let her finish her sip then I snatch it back from her. "What the hell? I wanted that." She says, slightly annoyed.
"Millie, I don't think you get the seriousness of my problem. Noah is picking me up at 4 pm." I spit.
"So?" She asks.
"So, it's 2 pm!" I say quite loudly. "And I look like crap." Millie scans me up and down. An oversized grey sweatshirt, black pants, and my messy bun now a messy volcano.
"Oh my God, you do." She says.
"Thanks." I reply as I roll my eyes.
"Ok, you get into the shower. And I'll pick out an outfit for you." She demands.
"You're the best," I exclaim as I head into the bathroom.

I step out of the bathroom in my robe and back into the bedroom. I walk over to my bed and see that Millie has laid out an outfit for me. A burgundy skirt, a black, off the shoulder bodysuit, and some black, lace-up, high heel boots.

"It's perfect!"I reply.
Millie smiles back at me, "I know."
I change into my adorable outfit and spritz on a dash of perfume. Millie curls my hair and I'm ready to go.
"I'm so excited!" I jump as I wait for Noah to come over.
Then footsteps sound, coming down the hallway. They stop in front of the door.
"Good luck!" Millie exclaims as I open the door. Noah stands there in dark wash jeans and a nice sweatshirt.
"Hey!" he says.
"Hi!" I add.
"You look beautiful." Noah says as he grabs my hand. I take it gladly and we head for the lobby.
Fans line the entrances and the hotel security personnel struggle to keep them within the barriers. Noah and I smile and wave at them and even take a few pictures. After signing my signature a dozen times, Noah and I head out the doors and into an Uber that he got us.
"Where are we going?" I ask.
"Well, I know I said that we could go wherever you want, but I was thinking that surprising you would be more fun." Noah admits.
"That sounds awesome! I love surprises!" I reply with a smile. I'm excited to see where he takes me.

After a while of driving, Noah gets out of the car. "Close your eyes." Noah said to me as he grabs my hand to help me get out.
I did as I was told and he turned me around.
"Okay, you can open your eyes now."
I open my eyes and I see a gorgeous picnic laying beautifully next to the shoreline of a private beach. The waves softly crash and the sand glistens in the warm sun.
"Oh my gosh!" I exclaim. "This is breathtaking, Noah!"
"I'm glad you like it. Millie loves the beach." Noah adds.
"Yeah. I think everybody loves it." I say back.
We walk down together to the iconic red checkered blanket strewn onto the warm sand and sit down. He reaches into a white wicker picnic basket and pulls out crepes, whipped cream, and fresh berries. He also pours us two glasses of sparkling cider and some popcorn.
"This is so cute! I love crepes, they remind me of Paris."I say calmly.
"Yea! I think Millie went to Paris for a photo shoot once." Noah says.
I smile at his comment and we continue to chat and sit on the beach as the sun sets.
"Wow. The sunset is amazing." I say.
"Like you." Noah says as he gives me a gentle hug.
We pack up the picnic and start to walk back to the parking lot. A new Uber is waiting for us.
"Thanks so much. I had a wonderful time, Noah."
"I had fun too." He smiles back.
We drive back to the hotel and get out of the car.
"Thank you." I announce to the Uber as she drives away.
" Hey Zara," Noah asks.
"Yes?"
"Doesn't Millie have those shoes?"
"Maybe. I'm not sure." I say back, slightly annoyed. Why does he keep bringing up Millie? Is it because they dated before and he's not over her? Should I ask him? All these thoughts flow through my head like a river and I wonder what to do as the two of us walk back to our rooms. I decide to jump without looking.
"Noah, I hope you don't mind me asking, but why do you keep bringing up Millie?" I blurt while we're in the deserted elevator. Noah looks a little taken aback, as if he's deciding how to respond.
"Um, I..." He trails off. I know he doesn't want to admit it, but we're both thinking the same thing.
"Noah, I had a beautiful time, but I think you still have some feelings for Millie and you confused them with feelings for me." I say cautiously. Noah looks down as if he is thinking and processing what I just said. If I'm wrong about this, I've blown our relationship.
"Zara, I think you're right. Actually, I know you're right. I just... didn't want to spoil your night." He admits.
"Noah, it's okay. I still had a lot of fun, but this isn't going to work. Friends?" I say.
"Friends." He replies with a grin. The elevator doors open and we're now walking down the hallway.
"But don't worry, I won't tell Millie." I promise.
"Thanks. Goodnight, Zara."
"Goodnight, Noah."
We walk our separate ways to our rooms. I fumble with the room key and open the door. Millie is lying down in her bed reading a book.
"Hey Zara!" She says looking up from her novel. "How was it?" She questions.
"Well, that definitely did not go as expected."
