"Really?" He says with wide eyes as he hugs me back.
"Really. I know you had good intentions." I tell him. "Just don't lie to me again." I whisper into the hug. He smiles as I pull away from his embrace.
"I'm so sorry. I promise I won't. Friends don't lie, right?" He says as I jokingly roll my eyes.
"That pun might be the reason I change my mind." We both laugh. "But seriously, we're good." I finish.
A tear falls down his cheek and I wipe it away.
"I'm so glad." He says, holding my hands tightly in his."We still have the whole evening, do you have any plans?" He asks me.
"Not yet." I say back to him with a big smile.
"Do you want to go out?" He replies, still holding my hands in his.
"Sorry." I tell him. His face drops, thinking I just blew him off. "I'd rather us stay in." I smile as he grins.
"We can do whatever you want to do." He laughs as he tucks my hair behind my ear.
"I'm really glad you feel that way, because have a great idea."

I sprinkle a dash of flour on my hand and blow Finn a kiss, sending the flour right onto his face. "Hey!" He laughs as he wipes it off with a kitchen towel. "Save some for the pie!" He says as he cracks an egg into a bowl. There's still a bit of flour on his nose, so I reach up and wipe it away. He smiles back at me and lifts my face and kisses me.
We separate and continue to bake. Finn rolls the dough out onto my kitchen island.
"What flavour should we make it?" I ask him.
"Whatcha got?" He says walking towards the fridge.
"I've got apples, blueberries, and raspberries. Take your pick." I reply.
"Let's put them all." He tells me.
"Okay." I agree as I take all of them out of the fridge and place them on the counter. "Can I put this on you?" Finn asks me as he takes out his AirPods from his pocket. I nod and he gently puts the left one in my ear. He places the right one in his ear. "I was thinking we could listen to music together." He says as he puts the berries in a bowl. "That's so cute." I admit to him as I reach into the bowl and steal two raspberries and pop one into Finn's mouth, the other in mine. Finn plays his fantastic music playlist and we continue to bake the pie. In almost an hour, Finn and I manage to bake a heart shaped berry pie and the entire trailer is filled with a sweet aroma. I hand Finn the oven-mitts and he takes the pie out and places it onto the quartz countertop.
"Well, let's try it!" I convince him as he cuts a slice for us to share. We sit together at my kitchen table and Finn cuts into the slice and places a small piece in my mouth. He watches me as I begin to taste the dessert we made.
"It's actually pretty good!" I say slightly surprised as I chew the warm confection, fresh from the oven.
"Obviously it's good, we made it together." He says as he looks at me. I giggle.
"But I think we added too much sugar." I add as I give him a bite so he can try our creation for himself.
"Mmm. Almost as sweet as you." He says as he stands up and walks over to me. I pull him in for a hug and we hold each other for a long time. His warm embrace comforts me. Suddenly, a loud buzz sounds, and I jump. Finn squeezes me even tighter. "It's just your phone." He says as he starts to let go of me so I can answer the call.
I read the caller ID. It's my mom, so I pick up my phone and tap the green answer button.
"Hi, Mom!" I chirp into the phone.
"Hi sweetie, how are you?" She replies.
"I'm great Mom, just baking with Finn." I say as I look at him with a grin. That's when I remembered that I still hadn't told her about Finn. For all she knows, he's still ignoring me.
"You two are friends now? That's definitely news to me!" She says to me.
"We've definitely gotten to know each other." I tell her, trying to avoid talking about Finn and I's relationship, because even I'm not sure what we really are. I sit down next to Finn on my couch.
"How is your leg? Are you off of the crutches now?" She questions in her Mom way.
"Yeah I'm not using the crutches anymore, and I'm feeling a lot better. Almost all of my scars are gone or really faded." I say this facing away from Finn, not wanting to remind him of the whole experience. Even when he denies it, I know deep down that he still blames himself.
"And have you remembered anything since the hospital other than your date with Noah?"
"A few things are coming back to me, but I'm already back into the swing of things, so it doesn't bother me that much anymore." I admit to her. It feels kind of nice to talk to her. I haven't in a long time.
"Good. I'm happy that you're feeling better. But checking up on you isn't the only reason that I called you, honey. I also have some important news." She says to me, sounding slightly cautious. Maybe even a bit nervous, which makes me a little anxious.
"Mom, what is it, did something happen?" I ask her, now growing even more concerned.
"I think you should sit down..."
