Finn's POV

I walk up to Zara's trailer and see her brushing her hair through the window. She's wearing black leggings and a pretty sweater. I walk up to the door and knock on it. She answers.
"Hi." She says as she tucks a piece of hair behind her hair. She's carrying a maroon backpack in her hand.
"Let me hold that for you." I tell her as I take the bag from her. We walk together down to the school room. When we get inside Mrs. Carson reintroduces herself to Zara and they greet each other. Millie and Noah are filming today, so it's just her and I, and Gaten. We all sit down, but this class, I sit right next to her. "Okay, were going to do a little review from last class. Does anyone remember what we started with?" Mrs. Carson asks the three of us.
"Electrolytes?" Gaten says.
"Close, it was electrolysis. The electrolysis of water, to be exact. But electrolytes are actually a part of electrochemical cells, which we will be talking about later." Mrs. Carson reminds us.
"Zara, my star student, can you tell us how the contraption works again?" Mrs. Carson asks her.
"Um... I don't know. I'm sorry." She tells her.
I can tell she's upset with herself.
"Do you remember what side is which element, Zara?" She asks again.
"I don't. I'm sorry." Zara answers.
"You may need some review, Zara." Mrs. Carson tells her. I turn to her and see her look down and quickly wipe a single tear away.
I stand up, pushing the whole table forward.
"Don't make her feel bad! It's not her fault she can't remember. Are you oblivious to what happened? It's ironic that we have an idiot as a teacher." I burst. I can't take it. It's not her fault, it's mine. I dash out of the classroom, Zara calls my name to try and stop me, but I don't listen. My eyes start to water, then overfill with tears.
I run, as fast as I can. I can't even see where I'm going, my eyes are blinded with tears, but I keep running straight down the dirt road all the way to the end. I sink to my knees and cry. I yelled at her and criticized her for being smart, and now she can't remember a thing, and it's all my fault. I see a blur walking, actually more like limping towards me. It's Zara. I quickly wipe my tears away before she gets close enough to see me. But my eyes are still puffy and red.
"Finn, are you okay?" She asks me with a concerned look on her face.
"Yea, just allergies." I lie pointing to my messed up eyes.
"Oh, I didn't know you were allergic to school." She tells me sarcastically. She drops her crutches one at a time and sinks to her knees. We're now at eye level.
"What's wrong? For real." She looks into my eyes.
"It's my fault that you can't remember. It's my fault! I ruined your life and I made you go through so much pain. And I don't know what to do at this point because I feel so guilty. And I'm sorry. I'm so, so sorry." I tell her. I'm full on sobbing now.
"Finn. It wasn't your fault." She tells me grabbing my shoulders. "Say it."
"It's not my fault." I whisper.
"That's right. You didn't make me do anything." She says to me. She hugs me and we stay there for a while. While we're still hugging, she asks me.
"Finn?"
"Mhm?"
"Is that why you asked me out? Because you felt guilty?" She asks. Now it's my turn to comfort her.
"What? Obviously not. You're just awesome and I love being with you." I say softly. We pull away from the hug.
"Come on, let's go back to class." She tells me as she pulls me up. We walk in sync, or as much as we can with her crutches, back up the street to the classroom.

Zara's POV

"Okay kids, we're done for the day." Mrs. Carson says with a smile as she packs up her belongings.
"We're still going out tonight, right?" Finn whispers into my ear. I nod back at him.
"Where are we going?" I ask him quietly.
"It's a surprise, but wear something fancy." He whispers back to me.
"Whatcha' talking about, guys?" Gaten questions as he leans his face closer to us.
I look at Finn and he nods at me.
"We're going on a date." I smile.
We all go our separate ways and I step into my trailer. I close my door and sit down against it. I just can't wipe the dopey smile off of my face.
The absolute sweetest guy is taking me out in an hour. An hour. I take my phone out of my pocket and call Millie.
"Hi, Zara!"
"Hi! Millie, I need you. Are you shooting right now?"
"Nope, I just got finished. I'm putting my costumes back now. Why?"
"My date with Finn is in an hour and I have nothing fancy to wear."
"Fancy? I've got just the thing! I'll be over in 5!"
She hangs up. While I wait for her, I might as well take a shower.

I step out of my boiling hot shower that was very fast and put on a robe. I start blow-drying my hair, because Millie will be here any minute now. Once it's all dry, I throw it into a ponytail and start on my face. I don't wear makeup, but I exfoliate, cleanse, pat dry, and moisturize. Now all that's left is hair and makeup.
Three knocks sound from the door.
"Coming, Millie!" I yell out as I dash to the door. I fling it open and there stands Millie holding a garment bag and a futuristic looking curling iron.
"I brought treats!" She says putting the garment bag and iron into my hands as she steps inside.
"Millie! Thanks for coming so fast! You didn't have to bring a curling iron though. I have one too." I tell her, setting the items down.
"This one is fantastic. You have to try it."
I nod. "But before I curl your hair, put on the dress. I think you're gonna love it!" She squeals with a huge grin.
"I'm sure I will." I pick up the bag and use the crutches to get into the bathroom. I unzip the bag and change into the dress. When it's on, I look in the mirror. I'm stunned. She really went all out.

 She really went all out

I step out of the bathroom with my heels pleasantly clicking against the hardwood floors. "Millie..." I'm speechless.
"Do you like it?" She asks.
"I love it!" I say as I do a twirl, my dress shimmering in the sunset light.
"Zara, is Finn picking you up at 6?" She asks.
"Yea, why?"
"It's 5:40! Your hair!" She says with worry. My eyes widen as I sit down next to her.
"Thank goodness you have the best hairstylist in the world." She tells me.

Millie finishes my hair with exactly 2 minutes to spare.
"Wow." I say.
"Sis, if you get any better looking, Finn will propose to you right on the spot." She jokes and I laugh.
"I hope this goes well." I whisper to myself, but loud enough that Millie can hear it.
"It will. I promise." She smiles at me with excitement.
I hear a knock at the door.
I really hope this goes well.
