I stood behind the counter, pouring coffee into a cup. Jake was attending to customers that were piling up as the minutes went by. Mandy was whizzing around the tables, picking up mugs and plates. Then Gino was in the kitchen, cooking up breakfasts faster than we could serve them.

"I got a coffee to go!" I called out to the cafe.

"That's me!" A tall business-like woman answered.

She handed me her money and I handed her the coffee. I walked over to Jake and the till to put her money inside. Jake looked flustered as a very menacing looking old lady stared at him from below the counter.

"Jake.." I said.

His head snapped towards mine in a frenzy of worry and panic.

"How much money did she give you?" I slowly said, walking him through this.

"Ten dollars," he answered his voice a little shaky.

"And how much was her breakfast?" I asked.

"Five dollars," he answered.

I raised my eyebrows to him. He finally got my drift. He pulled out five dollars from the till and handed it to the old lady. She snatched it off him and then scurried out of the cafe. Mandy, myself and Gino looked away to control our laughter.

"Jake do you want me to go on the till today?" I asked him smiling, trying my best to not to laugh.

"But you went on yesterday. And the day before," he replied with panic filled eyes.

"It's okay. Just go start cleaning table nine," I told him.

I handed him my dishcloth and scooted behind the till. The line was practically heading out the door but I put on a smile and pushed through.

"Hi, how can I help you?"

************************************************

The line was ultimately gone now. I put notes and coins in the till and they clinked as I closed it.

"Damn girl, you're an angel," Mandy said.

No. But my friend is.....

I laughed to myself at that truly bad pun. I went to walk away but the bell behind the till ringed. I looked up.

I almost had to grip the counter to stop myself from keeling forward. Standing in front of me was the most hottest and unbelievably good looking guy ever. It was like his face was sculpted by cherubs.

He had a bed of luscious dark brown hair that was perfectly styled so a little bit fell in front of his face. His cheekbones were structured to defend his beautiful face and his smile was just to die for. He stared down at me with such pure grey eyes they looked white from a distance. He was wearing a black jacket, grey shirt, dark jeans and boots. He resembled John Travolta in grease with his black jacket. He was still unrealistically good looking.

"Hi, what would you like today? " I managed to say.

"What do you recommend?" He grinned.

Oh wow...

I couldn't help but smile back. It was reflex of mine and it always happens when I begin to blush.

"Well it depends on how hungry you are. What can you eat?" I asked back smiling.

"I could eat a horse," he replied.

He put his hands in his jeans pocket and smiled at me.

"Okay then, I'll put you down for a number four," I told him.

He gave me his money and I took it from him. I handed him his order sheet and he put his name on it. I then passed it back to Gino where he shouted the ingredients for a number four.

"Enjoy," I said when I handed him back his change.

He smiled at me one more time and then sat down further down the counter. He had a perfect view of me and the till.

I certainly do not regret waking up this morning....
