Melinda was all ready for her date tonight. She had done her hair, put on some makeup and gotten dressed. She couldn't sit down or be still for that matter. She was either twitching her leg or pacing around the room.
I went up to my room to get dressed in some sort of decent manor. I mean it was Piper's restaurant. I rummaged through my clothes and found my old summer dresses. I slid my simple black one on an fastened the straps over my shoulders. I really couldn't be bothered to put on heels, so I grabbed my black converses. I flung off my socks and slid my foot into the shoe. I quickly brushed through my hair, tied a bracelet around my wrist and then ran downstairs.
When I got downstairs Melinda was getting into a car. The vehicle drove off.
Right. Keys.
I looked downstairs for the keys to Chris's car. I finally found them on the counter in the kitchen. When I came back out of the kitchen, Chris was blocking my path to the door.
"Where are you heading?" He examined me.
"I made Melinda a promise but I need to loan the car for a few hours." I pleaded.
"If you're going out then I'll come with you-"
"No." I interrupted him. He looked at me strangely. "I mean you can't. Melinda doesn't want you there. I'll be fine by myself. She'll be safe."
"It's not Melinda's safety I'm worried about..it's yours." He said.
"That's really sweet and all but I will be fine. If anybody tries anything I will give them the shock of their lives. Literally. But I really need to go." I rushed.
His face was a little hurt that I wouldn't let him come. He stared at the floor for a few moments before nodding.
"I won't be that long. Don't wait up for me." I told him.
I then ran past him and headed out of the door.
"Hey!" I heard him call back.
I turned around halfway out the door. I saw him tapping him mouth with his index finger.
I let out an exasperated laugh and ran back to him. I quickly pecked him on the mouth and as I went to go back out the door, he tugged me back, not finished.
"Chris. I. Have. To. Go." I spoke through kisses.
He finally let me go and then I waved him goodbye. I then ran down the front steps and jumped into Chris's car. I started the engine and then sped off down the road.

When I got to Piper's restaurant there was a lot of people going in and out of the door. I parked the car across the road from the restaurant and jogged into the front entrance.
There was a man standing behind a podium, talking to people and looking at a book. Reservation list.
Crap. I forgot to make a reservation.
I waited in the line until it was my turn.
"Do you have a reservation Madame?" The man asked me.
"Not really. Are there any tables close to a group of kids around fourteen fifteen? Probably under the name of Halliwell?" I asked him.
Answering a question with a question. That always ends up well.
"Miss Halliwell? Why their meals are free. Are you a close friend of Piper's?" He eyed me.
I wasn't paying attention to him. I was searching the room for Melinda.
"Miss?" He said.
I found her. She was near the back, in a private space. I saw Payton and their two dates. I suddenly realised I hadn't answered the man. I turned to him.
