After the now confirmed birthday bash plans from dinner, I decided to go into the kitchen and wash up. I couldn't be surrounded by everyone. I needed to be on my own.

I was scrubbing one of the plates when I heard someone enter the kitchen. I huffed. I turned around ready to tell whoever it was that I wasn't in the mood for chit chat.

I opened my mouth to start my argument but I closed it. Wyatt was standing by the door, holding glasses in each hand.

"Missed a few," he simply said.

I deleted any harsh words that were spinning in my head and brushed off the negative anger that was radiating off me. Wyatt didn't deserve to have whatever I was going to say said to him. Not when he just wanted to help.

He placed them beside me and then leaned his back against the counter.

"Are you okay? Sorry about earlier. We shouldn't have bombarded you with all those suggestions. We practically made it our birthday instead of yours," he apologised.

"It's fine, I'll get over it," I said not up for conversation.

"It's not fine if its bothering you. Tell me what's wrong. Why are you so against your birthday?" He softly asked me.

I could feel tears brimming in my eyes so I looked away. I didn't want him to see me crying. My hair fell in front of my face, concealing my tears away from him.

He tried his best to look at my face. Leaning back so he could see. He then slowly lifted his hand to my face and gently removed the hair from my eyes. He softly tucked it behind me ear. He saw a tear trickle down my face.

"Anna," he softly whispered.

"It's my first birthday without my parents.." I admitted in a very quiet voice.

He didn't say anything. He didn't have to. I knew what he was thinking.

"I'm not going to have a birthday card. I'm not going to hear my Dad singing happy birthday in a deafening tone. I won't have my birthday cereal with a candle lit in the milk. I'm just going to have those memories and a hole inside me that will never be filled," I sniffled as tear by tear fell down my cheek.

"We can always bring them back for the day," Wyatt kindly offered.

"That won't do any good," I started, "they're not meant to be here. How am I supposed to get used to life without them if we keep bringing them back."

He gave out a sigh and then pulled me into his chest. Wyatt wrapped his arms around me and I buried my face into his shirt. My head slowly bobbed up and down in-sync with his breathing.

"You're parents might not be here, but I am. And I'll always make sure that every moment of you're life is pain free and full of happiness," he soothed into my ear.

I pulled away from him. I looked up into his blue eyes and saw his beauty for the first time. Not his physical beauty but his inner beauty. He was the most selfless and generous person I had ever met.

He removed the wet hair from my face and pushed it back behind my ears. He cupped my face in his hands and tilted my chin up.

"Wyatt," I breathed a protest.

He just gently shushed me and pulled me closer to him. He bent down, closing the distance between my face and his. I could feel the calm and peacefulness of his breath getting closer. His hands that were caressing my hair and face had become slightly shaky and he almost seemed nervous.

"Wyatt you're trembling," I breathed.

"It's just what you do to me," he answered.

Within seconds I felt his mouth against mine. The feeling of his warm and soft pink lips against mine sent shock waves of electricity through my body. His hands moved from my face and he carefully smoothed them over my arms until he found my waist. I could feel his gentle but strong hands swaying my hips towards his.

Instinct told me to run my hands up his chest and wrap them around his neck. I couldn't ignore my instincts so my hands naturally moved up his body. I gently trickled the back of his neck with my index finger, caressing his smooth and flushed skin. I felt him tingle under his flesh. As the ripples of shock vibrated through his body I felt his breath hitch against my mouth.

Our mouths suddenly separated as his breathing became jagged. I opened my eyes, realising that I had closed them to find that his cheeks were flushed red and his skin temperature had risen. He was practically melting in my arms.

I couldn't help but smile.

"You think I'm a total dork," he shied away.

"No no it's just usually I'm the one who's weak at the knees during a kiss. Not the other way around," my smile got wider.

He let out a little laugh at his own embarrassment. There were voices in the distance, getting closer and closer. I let go of Wyatt's neck and he quickly released me from his grasp. I turned back to the sink and carried on with the dishes. Wyatt wiped his mouth and began to put away the dishes that I had already put away.

Pandora peered around the kitchen doorway.

"Hey Wyatt can you drop me and Payton home? Chris is watching Jamie like a hawk and you're parents are tired," she told him.

He turned around as if he was too focused on putting away the dishes.

"Uh yeah sure," he casually said but I knew it was an act.

Pandora then left the kitchen. Wyatt headed in the same direction. When he had left I turned around and ran my fingers through my hair.

Did I just kiss Wyatt? Or did Wyatt kiss me?

I was reliving the moment that we just shared. My train of thought was gone when I saw Wyatt running back into the kitchen. He quickly jogged up to me and planted one more kiss on my mouth. When Pandora started impatiently calling his name, he ended the kiss and then ran back out the door smiling.

I smiled to myself. I put my fingers to my lips, running over them where his mouth had been. I remembered the feel of his lips against mine just now and began to giggle.

I turned around again. I picked up one of the plates and placed it in the rack next to me.

I suddenly had this horrible ringing sound in my ears. The colours of the room in front of me were blurring and were morphing in and out of grey. I shook my head but it just got worse. I felt dizzy and light headed. I could feel myself swaying, slowly losing my balance. My lips were all tingling and were becoming numb. The tingles were shooting down my arms. I crippled down the sink as a sharp pain struck my heart. It was over quite soon as I saw the room above crashing down beside me like it was made out of sand...
