WYATT'S POV

After Jamie had taken Chris the elders had come down and healed me. My parents, Aunts and Uncles and my cousins were all following me to the attic. The elders tagged along too.

"It just doesn't make sense, Jamie is a trustworthy ally, why would he do this?" An elder asked.

I went straight to the book and began to furiously look through the pages.

"I guess someone has made him a better offer. Doesn't matter why he's doing it all that matters is that he helped aid an attack on Anna. The girl you assigned him to protect," I bit back.

"Wyatt what are you doing? There's nothing in the book that can help us," my mom said.

I looked up at her with impatience and anger in my eyes. Her gaze was filled up with tears and she looked at me with fear and pity.

"I am getting Anna back," I told everyone slowly, "and I don't care how long it takes. Or what it takes."

"Wyatt you're brother is missing, you should be out there looking for him!" Phoebe shouted at me.

"Pandora and the others can handle it," I dismissively told her.

"Wyatt!" she shouted,"listen to me!"

I slammed the book of shadows shut. It echoed through the empty house. I then glared at my Aunt.

"We all know that you love-loved her. We all did. But you're brother is somewhere out there, going through only God knows what. You have to let her go and save your little brother," she spoke quietly to me, her hand resting on my arm.

A small tear trickled down my hard face that was trying not to show any emotion.

"Wake up Pandora, then she and Henry and the others can find Chris. I am going to get my girlfriend back," I answered her in a low voice.

I didn't look at her when I spoke but I knew that she looked away in defeat.

Silently, people filed out of the attic. I didn't pay any attention to them. I just searched through the book for an answer to end my pain.

The elders stayed behind. They walked forward so they could speak to me. The elder Aria spoke up.

"Wyatt we are so terribly sorry for your loss. We didn't know that Jamie was an enemy, otherwise we wouldn't have assigned him to Anna."

I raised my head slowly, meeting her pitiful gaze. I felt rage bubble up inside me like a volcano. I stared at her with a sinister look.

"Next time," I snarled, "leave me to protect my girlfriend."

ANNA'S POV

I sprinted down the stairs as I fast I could. My heart was - surprisingly - beating out of my chest. Whatever that thing was, it wanted to get me.

I could feel the creature near me. I searched every shadow in sight incase it came at me again. I didn't know what to do without my powers so I headed for the front door.

I then ran onto the street and began running to wherever my legs could take me...

--------------------------------------------

I had my way to the cafe where I worked. I tried to doorknob but it was locked. I shouted out in anger. I kicked the glass on the door in aggravation.

A thought then occurred to me.

I took a few steps back to give me a head start. I then jogged up to the door. Then with all my strength I kicked the glass as hard as I could. I didn't make a dent.

I screamed as my toes whacked the glass. I hopped on one foot as the other was pumping pain up my leg.

After that failed attempt at getting inside another thought occurred to me. Next to me were tables and chairs for the outside seatings.

I picked up one of the metal chairs, I fixed it in my grasp so it wouldn't hit me in the face. I drew my arms back, took a deep breath and then threw the chair at the glass.

The door shattered into tiny pieces. The sound seemed to go straight through my body and echo around the desolate San Francisco streets.

I dropped the chair and the metal clanged against the floor. I stepped inside and headed for the kitchen.

I came out with two knives in my hand. One butcher knife and then a small vegetable peeling knife. If that thing decided to still come after me, it was going to get a fight first.

I placed the knives on the counter and sat down. I dropped my head on the counter and took a few breaths to calm myself down.

"You know that's not gonna do ya any good," a voice said.

Alert, I got up out of my seat and grabbed the butcher knife. I pointed it in the direction the voice came from.

Sitting in one of the booths was a man. He had his feet up on the table and his arms resting back. He had all black clothes, a black trench coat, wrinkly face and silver hair. His voice was low and southern like. No matter what he sounded like, he seemed to send chills down my spine.

"Who the hell are you? What are you doing here?" I asked him.

I sat up in the booth and placed a hand over his chest. His expression changed from casual to shocked.

"You mean the charmed ones ain't mentioned me? I'm a little insulted," he answered.

"You're obviously not that big of a concern to them anymore are you?" I sarcastically bit back.

He started to smile, showing his big rotten teeth.

"I'll ask you again then, who are you?" I asked, my expression hard.

My knife was still pointing in his direction. He got out of the booth and fixed his coat.

"The name is Barbas," he spun around, "Demon of Fear."
