"Wha- you're a whitelighter?" I asked astonished.
"Yes. Yours actually," he answered.
"We'll see," Chris suddenly spoke up.
"So all that earlier, that was fake? That was just for you to find me?" I asked.
"Oh no that was very much real. That guy was a dick," Jamie replied.
"I don't understand...why do I need a whitelighter if I have Wyatt and Chris?"I wondered out loud.
"Wyatt and Chris have their own responsibilities. They can't be constantly worrying about you. It's easier this way. Every witch has her own whitelighter," the elder on the left said.
"Jamie is very reliable Anna. We trust him completely. He knows his task and his destiny. We wish for him to guide you to yours," the woman elder explained.
"We wish you the best Jamie, we will see you soon," the elder on the right said.
They orbed away.
There was a long, stretching silence. Nobody knew what to say.
"Okay then, uh, Jamie is it?" Piper spoke up.
Jamie turned around to speak to her.
"You're Piper Halliwell. One of the Charmed Ones," Jamie extended his hand.
Piper shook his hand reluctantly.
"Understand that this is my house. My rules. If you break something, you pay for it. If you're a threat then we will get rid of you. Is that clear?" Piper warned him.
"Mom you're just going to let a stranger stride right into our lives? We don't know what he is capable of?" Chris urged.
"Chris the elders have assigned him to Anna. As long as Anna lives under this roof, then Jamie is going to have be around too. The elders wouldn't assign him if he was a threat to us," Leo argued back.
Chris' face was a mask of pure distrust and suspicion. Wyatt on the other hand looked uneasy but willing. He walked over to Jamie and shook his hand.
"I'm Wyatt. That's my brother Chris and little sister Melinda," Wyatt introduced them.
"Nice to meet you. I think I'll be able to learn a lot here. Well In addition to what I already do know," Jamie smiled.
"Right this is the attic. This is where we make potions, practice our magic and where the Book Of Shadows is kept," Wyatt explained.
"Wyatt!" Chris shouted, "What the hell are you doing? Telling him where the book is?!"
"Shut up Chris. It's like Dad said, the elders wouldn't assign him if he's a threat," Wyatt defended Jamie.
"Jamie go touch the book," I told him.
Jamie looked at me with confusion.
"What?" He asked.
"Touch the book," I repeated.
He looked over to where the book was. He headed in that direction. Chris went to go after him but Wyatt blocked his way. Jamie stood in front of the book, staring down at it.
He looked up at us all. His hands slowly crept forward towards the book. They made contact. The book didn't react. It didn't move itself away. It was letting Jamie hold it.
"Satisfied now? The book doesn't think he's a threat. Neither do I. So you shouldn't either," I told Chris.
"I'm not going stand here any longer," Chris said.
Seconds later he orbed out of the attic.
"Anna, aren't you forgetting someone downstairs?" Wyatt told me.
Oh crap Ed!....
