"Wyatt.." I spoke in utter awe.
My hands were covering my mouth in shock and surprise.
I heard him give a little laugh. I felt my hand being tugged. Wyatt wrapped his fingers within mine and then handed me the rose. I took it and then raised it to my nose. I inhaled the beautiful scent of the gorgeous flower.
"Come on," Wyatt smiled.
He then pulled me over to the picnic area. Scattered on the floor were little blossom flowers and a strange white flower I hadn't seen before.
I carefully knelt down so I wouldn't crush any of the beautiful flowers surrounding me. I sat on the picnic blanket with my hand on the floor to support me.
I picked up one of the small, unfamiliar white flowers.
"What are these?" I asked him.
I twirled it in my finger gently.
"Snowdrops," he began smiling, "you have to he careful with them. You see they're pure, delicate, fragile and unaware of their beauty. That's what makes them so precious. But once they've been destroyed their beauty goes away."
I listened to the story as Wyatt took out the wine and unbottled it.
"Why would anyone want to destroy them?" I asked.
"I don't know," he said in a quiet tone.
He shook off the mood that had overcome him and smiled brightly at me. He handed me a wine glass and poured the red liquid in it.
"Happy Birthday Kit,"

Throughout the night Wyatt and I laughed, talked and drank the wine and ate the strawberries set out. Wyatt told me stories of his childhood while I told him a few of the antics Ed had gotten himself into.
The wine was almost finished and it was the early hours of the morning. The sky was still black with tiny shining stars. The trees and candles flickered as the cold autumn air softly blew through them.
I put down my wine glass to speak to Wyatt.
"This has been the most the beautiful night of my entire life. Nobody has ever gone to this much trouble for my birthday before. Thank you. Thank you in every language from one side of the world to the other."
Wyatt smiled at me.
"I do have one more thing for you.." he said raising a teasing eyebrow.
I let out a laugh, not being able to process anything more for my birthday.
Close your eyes....
Wyatt's voice commanded in my head.
I slowly shut them and took a few deep breaths with a smile on my face.
A few seconds passed until Wyatt told me to open them again. When I did I could feel the tears building up behind my eyeballs.Sitting in Wyatt's hands was a bowl of cereal with a candle lit in the milk. The memories of my past birthdays came flooding back and Wyatt's face took the shapes of my parents faces. A tear fell from my eye. Not out of sadness, but out of pure appreciation.
"You remembered," I laughed as tears fell down my face.
"Make a wish," Wyatt answered.
I closed my eyes and blew out the candle. Before I could open my eyes again, Wyatt's mouth was pressing against mine. I felt up get up onto his knees and gently move his body closer to mine. As his body was coming down on mine I laid myself down on the picnic blanket.
I lifted up my arms and wrapped them around his neck as his hands moved down to my waist. We flipped over so I was sitting in his lap. I felt his arms around me, pulling me closer to him.
Suddenly he broke free. I opened my eyes to see what was wrong and his face was frowning deeply to the floor. When he lifted up his head, his eyes were two opaque blue mists of fear and terror.
"What's wrong?" I asked getting scared.
"It's my family," he began gripping hold of my hand, "they're in danger."

I was suddenly standing in the porch of the manor. Wyatt had orbed us back here without warning.
"Stay here," he ordered.
His expression was hard and serious. Wyatt looked me with such sincerity it almost frightened me. It was like he was two completely different people.
He orbed inside the house.
It was only a few moments after Wyatt had gone inside, that I heard a scream and loud crash. With fear coursing through me I burst open the manor door.
I saw Melinda on the floor, terror filled eyes as a man hovered over her with a knife ready to slam down in her chest.
"Hey! Get off her! Now!" I shouted.
I formed a bolt in my hand. I threw my hand in the man's direction and it captured him in a current of swirling electricity. The man was catapulted off Melinda. She clambered to her feet and scurried up the staircase. I ran in after her.
When I stopped on the stairs I knew what she was doing. Chris was lying on his back trying to get up. He had a darklighter's arrow sticking out of his torso.
"What the hell is going on?!" I shouted.
"Anna look out!" Melinda shouted pointing behind me.
I turned around and saw a darklighter with his bow and arrow aimed right at us. The arrow suddenly came shooting towards us.
Something in my head was set off and I knew I had to fight. Without thinking I raised my hand up to block the arrow from hitting Melinda or Chris. It went straight through my palm, slicing my skin. I screamed in pain.
"Anna!" I heard Wyatt call.
I saw him come from the conservatory and tackle the darklighter.
I looked down at my hand that had an arrow directly through it. My blood was pouring out from the wound and spat at me when I tried to pull out the arrow. I shut my eyes tightly, clenched my fist around the arrow and with all my determination and strength, yanked the arrow out of my hand.
I screamed again.
I threw the arrow to the floor and looked up. I saw the darklighter and Wyatt choking in his hands. The darklighter pulled out another arrow and plunged it into Wyatt's side. He shouted out as the poisonous tip pierced his skin.
"Wyatt! No!" I screamed.
I immediately went to go to his aid but Melinda's terrified call stopped me. I whipped around to see what was wrong.
Then it happened.
My vision started to go blurry and my head spun. My knees were beginning to feel weak and I could feel myself collapsing. All of the sounds around me were low, slow and chiming. Melinda's horrified shriek echoed in my brain. I saw a pair of dark eyes staring maliciously at me with a sinister grin.
I then looked down at myself and saw a long wooden stake, covered in my blood, sticking out of my stomach...
