The next morning, Kareena had just finished brushing her hair; she was the only one in the girls communal bathroom

“Kareena!” Zoe shouted

Kareena stepped out of the bathroom, “Morning Zoe- where is everyone?”

“In class- we’re late...I went looking for you, come on, I have your stuff” Zoe said whilst running off

Kareena eyes widened for a second before she snapped out of it and adjusted her shirt whilst racing after Zoe, “Late on my first day...talk about starting on a bad note” she thought to herself

The first class of the day was a singing  and when they got there, they noticed the lecture theatre was nearly packed. All eyes were on them when they entered

“Names?” the lecturer asked

“Kareena Summers”

“Zoe Levine”

The lecturer nodded and gestured for them to sit before she continued her lecture

The lecture went by really quickly (it could be because almost half of it was missed) and the students began to file out

“Miss Summers and Miss Levine, you two will spend your break here, finishing up on the notes you missed taking down”

Both girls nodded as the lecturer left.
Zoe finished her notes first and began to fiddle with the strings of her violin

“Play me something” Kareena grinned

Zoe adjusted her glasses and began to play the tune for Crazier, by Taylor Swift

Kareena hummed and finished her work; she got up to throw a page in the bin and began to sing along, both girls smiling at each other as the song progressed. Neither of them noticed the door open and Liam leaning on the doorframe, the curious smile back on his handsome face. It was only when the song ended, did Zoe notice Liam, she froze for a second before looking down, Kareena noticed this and turned to see what the problem was. Liam’s light brown eyes seemed to sparkle at the sight of her; the two held their glance for a few seconds before he adjusted his leather jacket and stepped in properly

“You have a great voice” he said, the sound of his voice was so velvety and seductive

“Thanks” Kareena replied

“Why’d you two run off yesterday?”

Kareena looked at Zoe, knowing she’d understand her look as a question, Zoe nodded her response

Liam smiled, “It’s alright...really. Just wanted to make sure my friends and I didn’t scare you off”

Kareena smiled and looked back, “Not at all”

“You probably already know this...” Liam said whilst smiling at Zoe, then back to Kareena, “The name's Liam”

Kareena laughed, “Kareena...and this is my friend Zoe”

Liam nodded his head towards Zoe before returning his gaze to Kareena, “So, you’re a fan of rock music?”

“I’m a fan of good music” Kareena shrugged

“Well said” Liam smiled, making the sparkle in his eyes seem even more radiant

“Your performance yesterday was great by the way” Kareena said

“You should join me sometime...there’s a lot of perks to it”

“You’re kidding right?” Kareena asked with a raised eyebrow

Liam laughed, “Why would I kid about that?”

“I thought final years don’t socialise with anyone else, let alone first years?”

“There are exceptions to things”

Kareena thought for a second, “I’d love to... But only if Zoe gets to come too”

Liam followed Kareena’s gesture to Zoe then looked back at her, his playful smile not once leaving his handsome face, “If it'll make you happy”

“Thank you” Kareena smiled

“I’ll be seeing you around Kareena” Liam said, he held her stare for a second longer before leaving

Zoe managed to find her voice again once he was gone, “You just had a conversation with Liam Winters!”

“You could have as well” Kareena rolled her eyes playfully

“I don’t think so; he barely took his eyes off you”

They both then laughed

“Still don’t think we should risk the association?” Kareena teased

“Let’s go” Zoe laughed whilst packing her stuff
