Chapter 20: Back At The Academy

Kareena double checked the room she was in to make sure she didn’t leave anything behind. She didn’t carry much but with a room as large as the one she was in, she had the feeling it was easy to lose things here and not even know it

Liam knocked on the doors and let himself in a moment later, “What are you doing?”

Kareena was by this time flattened to the ground and peering under the bed, she got up and adjusted her hair, “Making sure I didn’t leave anything behind”

“Is it a habit of yours to leave things under the bed?” Liam asked

Kareena ignored him, “This room is too big! I could have easily dropped something and lost it!”

“Well if our staff finds anything, they’ll let me know and I’ll be sure to pass it on to you”

Kareena finally nodded and took her bag, “Going to miss the bed the most...”

Liam laughed and took her bag from her, “You’ll be back in a week”

He held her hand as they walked though the castle, and as much as Kareena learnt about this place and the people, she still didn’t know everything- let alone how to navigate the castle without getting horribly lost

Once they were outside the castle, she saw the king talking to one of the bodyguards and the queen stroking Leo’s mane. Liam went over to his mother first, “I’ll be back next weekend”, she nodded and hugged him, he then proceeded to play with Leo who was all too happy to have the attention

The king made his way over to Kareena, “I look forward to your return for the break”

Kareena smiled, “I can’t wait to be back either, this place is amazing”

“We’ll have activities planned out as well- I certainly hope you’ll join”

“It’d be my pleasure” Kareena nodded

The king took her hand and walked her over to where Liam was, Kareena then smiled at the queen, “It was lovely meeting you”

The queen smiled at Kareena, a pleasant smile on her face yet her eyes were saddened. Kareena wondered if it was because she didn’t like her

Another guy arrived and took the bag from Liam

“Time to go” Liam smiled at Kareena

“Just a moment son”, the king spoke, “Kareena, you can go ahead- he’ll only be a moment”

Kareena nodded and followed the guy with the luggage, as well as two bodyguards

“Leo. Go with her” Liam said

Leo got up properly and shook his mane before walking behind Kareena

“Is everything alright?” Liam asked

“Just wanted to make sure you didn’t want to be here for the execution this afternoon?”

“I’m sure, Kareena shouldn’t be here when it happens...”

The king nodded

Kareena smiled at people as she made her way to the jet. Once again, she had to make her way through masses of people and pass all their homes, one thing she didn’t mind though was all the sights that surrounded her, it really was picture perfect

She could hear Leo behind her but didn’t dare to look. People seemed to even bow and cheer when they saw him, as though he was practically royalty himself. And as much as he seemed adorable and part of her really wanted to touch and play with him - her fear of what he was and what he might be capable off scared her more
