Chapter 23: Dinner With A Side Of Drama

The Friday of exam week had come so quickly and the sessions ended even quicker. Kareena had given Liam two of her bags and carried the last one with her, they were making their way through the main building when they caught sight of Seth seated in the waiting area- one leg bent and the other fully extended as he took full advantage of the back rest, “In trouble on the day of break Phoenix?”

Seth looked at him, and then at Kareena- his eyes glanced at the bags being carried. His attention then swapped over as Mr. Jax, the mixing professor, joined. Seth stood up and began to follow him towards the faculty offices

Liam gestured for Kareena to walk and she obliged, he followed
Seth cast one last glance over his shoulder at the now empty passage that Liam and Kareena were just standing in

Liam parked his car at the airport and he, Zac and Kareena got out. Zac wasted no time and boarded the jet with the one backpack that he brought with him

“Where’s Rachel?” Kareena asked, although she wasn’t entirely interested

Liam handed his car keys to one of the male figures and watched another take the bags away, “I’m surprised you’re asking about her”, he said with a smile

Kareena rolled her eyes, “Just curious, that’s all...I mean don’t get me wrong, I am happy she isn’t here...just wanted to know why”

Liam coughed awkwardly, “Because...she’s already at home”

Kareena groaned, “Noooooo”

Liam laughed and held her hand, “It’ll be just fine...you’ll see”

“She’s going to make your parents hate me” Kareena fake pouted

“I asked her to go because I wanted to know if Chris was alright. She’s only been there from yesterday”

“It’s still a day before me...but is Chris alright?”

Liam nodded and they boarded as well. Kareena took the same seat she took the last time, Liam did the same- Zac however, was seated towards the front rummaging through his backpack

“I’m sure this flight will be a lot better for you, considering you know exactly what to expect”

Kareena shook her head, “It doesn’t help, but I’m sure I’ll get used to it. But let me know when to expect...you know”

Liam smiled knowingly and nodded

Once again, Kareena found herself basking in the next level warmth that sun kingdom provided, Zac got his backpack and spoke to Liam as they waited for Kareena’s luggage to be brought

“We have to call Maleah” Kareena said whilst joining the guys

Liam nodded, “Once we get inside”

A moment later, the three of them walked together, sandwiched between bodyguards and being led by the guy with the luggage. It was like déjà vu, they were surrounded by crowds who greeted Liam and cheered for his return even though he’d been gone for just a week

Kareena found herself distracted by the beautiful homes and gardens once more- a fairytale village, with warm and friendly people and a picture perfect environment

They finally arrived inside the gates of the castle and once more, she watched them shut out everything and everyone else

“You should get some rest, I’ll let my parents know you’re here and make sure word is sent to Maleah letting her know you’re safe”

“You know...you never told me how your talk with her went” Kareena mentioned

Liam smiled, “Didn’t actually get a chance to talk to her, but I’ll find out where she’s headed and sort everything out”
