Chapter 13: A New Arrival

"I can stay with her if you want" Chris suggested

Liam thought about it, "Won't work- isn't your recording tonight?"

Chris nodded

"I'll go myself...really" Kareena said whilst looking at Chris' dorm room, it was much bigger than hers and very well kept for a guy, then again, that was pretty sexist and it really came as no suprise considering how neat Chris was and how he carried himself off

"I'll walk Kareena there, double back and help you out before leaving" Liam said

"Sounds good" Chris said

"Leaving?" Kareena asked

"Yeah, family thing..." Liam shrugged, hoping she would leave the topic alone

"When were you going to tell me?"

"Tonight" Liam answered

The silence after that got awkward so Chris broke it, "Zac said the party they're having is pretty big- he snuck in to see"

"Zoe must have gotten the transfer" Kareena said quietly

"First years mostly do...after that it becomes pretty rare" Liam said

"Should I change or is this okay?" Kareena asked, she gave a quick twirl to show off her high waisted jeans and crop top

"You look amazing, as always...not that anyone on that side deserves to see it" Liam said whilst pulling her closer to him

"Guys...this room has a no romance policy" Chris stated

Liam raised his hands in an apology and led Kareena outside

"Why didn't you tell me you were leaving earlier?" Kareena asked whilst putting her hair into a high ponytail

"It was a last minute thing" Liam answered

Kareena stayed quiet

"I didn't think it would be such a big deal...It's my family Kareena, no one else"

"I never said it was anyone else...I just wanted to be apart of your life and if that's a problem, then why are you even dating me?"

Liam stopped, he didn't look at her or say anything, he just stopped

Kareena did too, she immediately felt bad for snapping like that, "I just don't want to be someone who isn't involved in the life of someone I care about so much"

Liam stayed silent but continued to walk, Kareena followed, feeling bad the whole time

A few minutes passed without them talking, it bugged Kareena, "Chris' dorm room is nice...I'd like to see yours"

No response

"Liam..."

"There's not much to see" Liam finally answered

"Why are you acting like this now?", Kareena asked without noticing that they were at the bridge that led to the Star section

"We're here" Liam said with a faint smile

"Liam, wait"

He took her hand and held it in both if his, "You know everything there is for you to know"

"I'm sorry Liam..." Kareena teared up

Liam kissed her hand, "Enjoy the party, I'll see you when I get back"

Kareena watched him leave, he didn't look back once

She crossed the bridge after taking a breath and wiping her eyes
