Corrin rushed as fast as she could to her Private Quarters, located in a tall tree without being seen.
She didn't want anyone to catch sight of her tears and to view her as a weakling.
She climbed up the rope ladder and eventually made it into her Chambers to only jump into her bed and sobbed into her pillow.
It pained her having to choose one side of her family; to aid her loyalty to one side, and to betray the other.
It felt wrong; very wrong. Wronger than words could describe. Corrin hated to see the pain in her brother Xanders eyes when she told him she'd be siding with Hoshido.
And she couldn't forget Elise when she bursted into tears. The memories of that day... she wants to forget it all.
But Corrin was snapped out of her thoughts, and her silent sobs came to an erupt pause, when she heard a familiar voice call out to her.
It was unexpected... but at the same time, quite expected. Corrin knew instantly who the voice belonged to.
"Lady Corrin... what is the matter? Are you... crying?"
The ninja known as Kaze hopped down from the darkness of who knows where in Corrin's private room and approached carefully.
Kaze and Saizo were very silent, but never deadly. Sometimes they will sneak into Corrin's room so easily, the idea could scare her at times.
Because what if it were an enemy who snuck in? If that was the case, she'd be dead.
Corrin froze for just an instant before turning on her side facing the wall, and without cracking into her sobbing voice, she replied...
"I-I'm fine. Please... leave me be." Corrin managed to spit out without revealing any sign of weakness.
But not only is Kaze a smart young man, but he is also sharp on senses and observation.
And Kaze could tell that something was definitely bothering Corrin. Especially since she was shooing him off so suddenly, and without turning to gaze at him.
Kaze knew at that moment, something was indeed wrong. After all, Corrin always meets her gaze with his. The fact she was refusing to give him so much of a glance... was definitely out of the norm.
"Lady Corrin would you please tell me what is weighing you down? I want to help--"
Before Kaze could finish, Corrin interiors the kind ninja and tells him a cold tone that she was fine, and to leave.
The icy cold tone in her voice... it had taken Kaze aback. He wasn't used to Corrin being so... so distant.
Corrin was trying so hard to build a great wall between the two. But Kaze didn't give up even after that.
Because he knows if he tries hard enough, he could overcome this wall. And once he does, he can finally reach Corrin.
"Lady Corrin... look at me." Kaze demands. His tone was Stern, and he meant for her to have no other choice.
Corrin knew that deep down, it was wrong of her to be trying so hard to keep Kaze away.
But... she didn't want him to have to see her like this. She doesn't want Kaze to see how weak and fragile she actually is.
But after receiving the one demand from the ninja, she felt that she truly had no choice.
So she sits herself up while still facing the opposite direction from the concerned man before her.
She raised a hand, ready to wipe away the years in an attempt to conceal them, but Kaze places a firm yet gentle hand into her shoulders and swung her around slowly.
Corrin didn't get the chance to wipe her tears, so Kaze saw. He saw the tears sliding down from her cheeks while at the same time, new tears were forming.
"My lady... what may have caused you to shed such tears as these...? Had something gone amidst?"
There was no way for Corrin to deny or hide things for any longer. So she decided to give in and to spill the beans.
Corrin tells Kaze about the fact that Hoshido and Nohr will soon be at war. And she also added how she tried to sway her big brothers mind about his decision, but he refused to hear her out.
"I just... I don't want to remain speechless. I want the fighting to come to an end. I don't want to see my two families kill each other. And... I want Ryoma to know the Nohrians like I do. They aren't just ruthless dogs. They're normal people just like you and me. They desire peace as well, so... why can't we all just have that...?"
Kaze was silent for a moment, unsure of how to respond to Corrin's words. But no sooner as it came to him, he voiced it out.
"The world... can be dark and bleak. But... it's not impossible to change their views. If you take the right course of action... I'm sure... no, I know that you can change the tide of this war. You can bring peace to both sides. And I will help you achieve that dream; no matter the cost. Even if I must sacrifice my very life--"
As Kaze was continuing to tell Corrin of his undying devotion and loyalty to help Corrin in her cause, Kaze was taken aback and greatly astounded to see the princess nearly butt heads with him while shouting...
"Absolutely NOT A Kaze!! Anything but your life! I will not allow you to lay down your life for me, no matter the circumstances!"
"B-But lady Corrin... it is my sworn duty--" before Kaze could be given a chance to continue voicing his thoughts, once again, Corrin interrupts the ninja, forcing himself to shut his pie hole.
"I could care less about duty!! Your life is far more important to me than duty. Please... for my sake... don't do it. Don't make what almost happened at Wolfskin Peak repeat again...!"
"L-Lady Corrin...! Please, I would never let such an accident happen again! I'm so sorry... I never thought that incident weighed down on you so much. If you truly wish it, I swear, I'll do everything in my power to stay alive."
"R-Really...? You mean it, Kaze?"
"Of course, my lady. Anything you would ask of me, I will obey without hesitation."
"Thank you... Kaze." Corrin smiled as tears of happiness began to come out from the corners of her eyes.
Corrin leaps into Kaze's arms, and embraces him, startling the surprised ninja!
"L-Lady Corrin?!" Stuttered Kaze big eyed, as his face began to blush several Scarlets of red.
Corrin remained, hugging the ninja close for another moment, before coming back to her senses and removing herself from him.
"Ah, um...uh, s-sorry Kaze." Chuckled Corrin before making some big excuse so she could exit her Private quarter Chambers to hide her embarrassment.
"Lady Corrin...she...she just clung to me like the woman in the Hoshido village does. What does it mean...?" Kaze pondored to himself.
But little did Kaze know, he would soon find out.
