When Kaze made his return to Corrin and the group, he was staggering slightly due to the unbearable pain by his shoulder blade.
Niles is not one to mess with. And it’s no joke that Niles is fit to be your best assassin to assign a job. Because with ease, he can very well find a way and accomplish his said task.
When Kaze made it, the scene played out exactly as he pictured it to. Corrin came rushing to his side, panicking on the verge of breaking out of her strong composer and into tears.
Kaze was immediately treated by Elise, however. She wields a staff that has the power to heal any wound depending on how fatal it is. And luckily, Kaze’s injury wasn’t as bad as it might appear.
Kaze was incredibly grateful to Elise and swore to repay her. “It’s my pleasure! Oh, and I know exactly how you can pay me back!” Deides Elise before bursting into childish giggles.
And that was exactly what Elise was… a child. Or at least, mentally. But it was her constant childlike behavior and cheerfulness that lightens the mood of the whole army and makes everyone feel that a ray of light, for once, was beaming down on Nohrian soil.
The days passed into weeks, and weeks into months. And just as this process was continuing, the time and day had finally come. It was the day the war between Hoshido and Nohr shall break.
Corirn and the rest of the army was preparing themselves for the long and grueling battle they might not come back from.
Camilla tried to put on a brave face acting like the war they were about to get themselves into was nothing but childsplay. But really, Camilla’s smile was forced.
They might come out of this alive… but that won’t make it any less easier. This shall be one of the bloodiest battles Nohr has had in decades.
But the reason Camillia was trying to do her best to stay strong, without revealing an inch of weakness… was for her sisters.
Camilla is aware of how sensitive Ellise and Corrin are. If they knew… knew the fear and pain their big sister had tuck away deep inside her chest… it would bring down their moral. And then, she might lose them in this battle.
That is, at the very least, what Camilla fears most. Leo understand’s Camillia’s pain and fear being among the oldest as well.
When Camillia tried forcing her smile to him, he could see through her as clear as daybreak, and he held her and allowed her to let out all of her insecurities and tears.
“Kaze… promise me one thing.” Corrin spoke up to the ninja as she approached. Kaze was double checking his equipment in the back of the weaponry room.
“Yes, m’lady?” Kaze paused what he was doing and focuses his complete attention on the woman before him.
“Please… don’t die.” She begged. Kaze’s lips form into a small but warm smile. “Of course, lady Corrin… I will try.” Kaze tries to keep his promise.
The war… it will be taken place in the plains of Hoshido. It will be the same plains from where everything began.
The plains where Corrin had to make her biggest decision in her life… which of her family to chose. The ones she was born with… or the ones who kidnapped yet raised her while showering her with undying love.
Of course, Corrin chose the family that raised her for these many long years. Yes, they kidnapped her. But… they have showered so much love onto her… they are family.
Corrin could care less if the Nohrian’s are her blood family or not. What matters… is that they never lost faith in her or left her to rot. Family, no matter what, never gets left behind or forgotten. Ever.
The army was lined up and faced to face across the field. Nohrians and Hoshidoans will now collide, weapons in arm, ready to fight to the death.
Corrin glances over to Kaze with a weak smile, in her mind, asking him if he was ready. Kaze appeared quite nervous as well, but returned the same smile with a confident nod, saying that he was.
Soon enough, the order to charge from both Xander and Ryoma on each army’s sides was announced, and everyone charged like a horde of wolves, in for the kill.
This was the field where everything started. And this is where everything will end, once and for all.
