(C/N)-Cat's Name
It's been a long day, helping animals from the streets regain health and nutrition. Being a fellow worker, along with your grandpa, at the clinic was not always easy. Through and through, you actually enjoyed working there. The customers were pleasant, the other employees were like family, and your boss was your grandpa. It was a nice place to earn a living. Of course, you didn't really do much. You wanted something more exciting, then sitting behind a desk and feeding animals all day! You were the last one at the clinic for the night, and had to lock up. As you locked the back door, you noticed it was raining cats and dogs. Suddenly, you heard the bell of the front door open. Hastily walking to the main room, you saw a drenched man, with two little kittens in his arms. The man had dark brown hair, with piercing green eyes. He was muscular, and had a strong built. You walked up to him, and asked,
"Sir? May I help you?" You asked, knowing he'll probably say his kittens are sick, or he found them on the road. There was an awkward silence for a couple of seconds, until he answered.
"Yes... I found these cats on the street, in a card board box... I was hoping you would take them in." The man before you had a deep, timid voice. A faint pink hue made it's way onto your cheeks. You motioned him toward you desk, and brought out some paperwork.
"So you found them on the road?" He nodded, at your question and you quickly wrote the note down. "And what's the story with you? How did you find them?"
"Well... I was driving my truck back home, and I saw a little cat in the middle of the road... I stopped my truck, and got out to comfort the cat. When I held it, I saw the box with the other cat on the other side of the road. The box said 'Make sure they have a good home.' I drove here with them in my arms, and then now." He answered, in monotone. You had written everything he said down, then looked back at him.
"Last question, what's your name? So we can contact you when the kittens are back to health." He looked set aback, until he answered,
"My name is Hercules Karpusi. I am 27, and single. I am male, and my phone number is XXX-XXX-9036. Oh, and my credit card number is-" He went on before you interrupted him.
"Hold on!! You don't need to tell me that!! So your Hercules Karpusi, age 27, sex is male, your phone number is XXX-XXX-9036, and... your single?" You said 'single' very slowly and in monotone. He nodded, and you put the file away. You got up and gently grabbed the two kittens, that were once in his arms. You started to walk toward the door, until Hercules spoke again.
"Where are you taking them?" He asked. You looked back at him, and gave a kind smile.
"I'm bringing them with me, to my apartment. I'll nurse them back to health myself. It would be cruel to take them in, then lock them in a cage till morning, so I'll care for them till they're better. Okay?" You explained, as he nodded slowly. "Oh, can you please leave? I have to lock up." Hercules held a surprised expression on his face, until you gave him a gentle smile. Even though you didn't see it, Hercules had a dark red plastered on his face. As he exited the building, you watched him jump into his truck, and drive off. You locked up, and went back to your apartment. Once you got there, you placed the kittens down and filled a bowl with left over cat food. (C/N) was your first cat. He/she was playful and sassy, but was lovable and always made you feel better, when you were down. Unfortunately, he/she died a couple months ago.
A couple of weeks have passed, and so much has happened. Zeus and Hades, the two kittens, were now well nourished and healthy as any other normal cat. They were playful, and were trained. Hercules would come in almost everyday, to see the kittens and ask you when they're up for adoption. Sometimes, he would ask you more personal questions, like your hobbies and interests. Of course you would answer, but you didn't understand why he wanted to know all these things. In the end, you and him actually became good friends. Now was the day, the kittens were able to be adopted, and have a proper owner. At 9 a clock, you opened the door to find Hercules laying on the floor, while Hades and Zeus played on top of him. You were so confused, that you didn't even want to ask, but you did anyway.
"Hercules? Why are you on the floor, with the kittens, and how long have you even been here?" You asked, in pure disgust and confusion.
"Your grandfather let me in, if your asking if I broke in." He answered, as he dodged all your questions. You sighed and sat down at your desk, filling out paperwork and going through files. After a good hour, you posted the "Adopt Me" sheets online, and printed out some too. You sighed in satisfaction, as you sat comfortable in your seat.
"What's the satisfaction for (Y/N)?" Hercules asked, in his usual disinterested tone.
"I just printed Zeus's and Hades's "Adopt Me" slips, so they can be adopted." You answered, with a visible smile shown on your face. Hercules stood up and walked over to your desk.
"I would like to adopt three kittens, so I can protect, hold, and care for them. Always." He explained, in his normal voice.
"S-so you want to adopt Zeus and Hades, but what's the other kitten?" You asked. Hercules giggled a little, walked around you desk, stopped behind you, and slithered his arms around your waist.
He answered,
"You."
