The idea of this England x Reader is the Hatafutte Parade (of course) and the song above. Enjoys fellow England lovers!

"This sucks..." You mumbled to yourself softly, as you waited for a customer to come in. The run down of your life is it sucked. You broke up with your deadbeat boyfriend, then you got kicked out of his apartment. After a couple days of living with your parents, you were laid off. How can this happen to somebody!!!??? All you have left of your boyfriend is a single silver chain. Now you work at an pub, which make all of life sweeter. Your best friend actually offered the job, because her father owned the place. The pub wasn't run down and it paid well, but you still didn't understand how your life went totally downhill. You sighed to yourself as you waited for someone to come through the door. The clocked ticked, and ticked, and ticked! When you looked at the clock, it read 4:59. 'Oh Holy Queen of England! It's rush hour!!' Once it turned 5:00, men of all statues came rushing into the pub. Now you were at work! You served all them with a smile and kindness. Being in a sour mood would get you nowhere, so you smiled.

"Ah, beautiful (Y/N)~" A sailor called. You nodded and told them you'll be there in a minute. Once you got there you filled three mugs of beer for him and his lads.

"There you go boys!" You cheered, as you put their drinks down. The men looked at their drinks and drank them almost immediately. They looked so happy. Their happiness almost made you happy. Almost.

"(Y/N), you're a fine girl. What a good wife you would be. Your eyes could steal a sailor from the sea. Right gents?" The sailor cooed, "Do you have a boyfriend yet love?" The older man asked.

"No... I don't think I'm ready just yet..." You softly replied. Tears threatened to fall down you cheeks.

"Aww~ That's to bad~ When you're ready, I could introduce you to my son." The sailor commented.

"Wait your son? The one who's been gone for years?" One of the man's friends asked. The older sailor nodded, as he looked at his left over beer in his mug.

"Yeah. Ever since I sent him to college, he hasn't wanted to come home. I bet he thinks he's better than to visit his old dad." The old man dramatically admitted. All of his friends spit out some of their beer into the mug it originally sat in. You even looked up at the old sailor. The residents of Down Abbey usually lived there all their lives. It was strange when someone said they wanted to move away for what ever reason. It often surprised you when someone said they wanted to go to college, or move to London.

"D-Don't worry sir. Please cheer up~ Your son will want to come back to our little town. I promise." You calmly reassured.

"I know he will! Thank you dear (Y/N). Without you, we wouldn't have your wifely support... and beer. Cheers gents!" The old sailor cheered. All of his lads laughed with joy and agreement. This was the one thing about the job that you actually enjoyed. Seeing people laugh and smile, made you feel like you were welcome. Like you actually enjoyed your life choices. This was the one time you actually held a genuine smile. It wasn't forced. It wasn't fake. It was real. After all the sailor left the pub, you went home yourself. As you walked home, you looked up at the beautiful night sky. You loved seeing the stars, that shined so brightly. As you were looking up, someone bumped into you and scattered their papers everywhere. Out of shock and pity you hastily helped pickup the scattered papers. Once all the work was picked up you turned to him and gave him his papers back.

"I-I'm very sorry stranger. I didn't see you coming, and I apologize for it!" You blurt out. The stranger held out his hand in order to silence you.

"I-It's quite alright love. I was the one who wasn't watching where he was going. What were you looking at?" He asked. You blushed at his looks. Though he had Britannic Bold eyebrows, he had reddish-blond hair and peridot eyes. They shined like gems! After a couple of awkward seconds you shook out of your thoughts and answered his question.
