After Mr. Portugal left, you felt kinda lonely. No one had visited you for a while, which was very strange. There was no sign of Norway, Iceland, or Denmark for months, years. You started to worry about the Scandinavian countries. What could you do about it though? You were pretty much ordered to stay on your home land, until Norway said otherwise. The year of 1605 came in quickly, but nothing really changed for you. When you were playing with Yotimo, you spotted a Danish ship coming your way. Immediately stopping what you were doing, you ran toward the shore and waited for the Denmark to come to your shores. Once he was on shore, you walked over to him in a regular manner, as he did the same. A smile showed on neither of your faces as you and he walked toward each other. Once you and Denmark were facing each other, you didn't want to say a word. What was going on inside your head? You once had so many questions for him, that regarded his and Norway's whereabouts, but all of that disappeared in a instant. Looking at the ground in embarrassment, Denmark tilted your head up. He gave a kind, gentle smile that could melt any ice. All cold tension thawed away like ice and snow on a warm sunny day.
"W-welcome back Denmark." You timidly said, as you looked him in the eye. After you finally greeted him, he returned another smile of gratitude.
"Greenland? I would like to discuss something very important of you, so could we talk at your place?" Denmark asked, in an questioning, yet happy tone. A sudden surge of rage struck through out your body as he stood there, grinning like an idiot. You grabbed the collar of his jacket and lifted him off the ground, in order to intimidate him.
"You have been gone how long, and you finally want to talk to me about something so important!" You yelled, in his ear. Denmark whined a little, before he started to explain.
"I-I am sorry Greeny; I can explain!" Denmark protested. You sighed and released your tight grip on his shirt. Starting to walk toward your house, Denmark briskly followed behind your shorter figure. As you sat down in your chair, you looked toward Denmark and motioned him to sit down. Doing just that, he started to speak.
"I wanted to ask you about something Greeny. If you were able to choose who you going to marry, who would it be?" Denmark asked, in a more serious tone. Honestly, you were surprised. How can one of the most happy country be so serious and stern with his questioning? You had no idea.
"Hmm... I heard Ottoman Empire is pretty strong..." You trialed off, before Denmark stopped your trail of thought.
"No, I mean what one of the Scandinavians would you marry?" Denmark re-questioned. You thought for a little before you looked at him again.
"Well... Norway found me, and said I'll be his wife, so Norway?" You answered. As you thought to yourself, you didn't really want to marry anyone, especially any of the Nordics! They were nice to you, but you knew you were just territory to them. Norway was the first one to come to mind, because he was the first Nordic you met, so it was only natural. Right? Denmark lowered his head in grief. After a moment of silence, Denmark stood up and left without a word; but he actually didn't leave. Denmark started exposing the lost eastern settlements and turning them into Danish ones. You couldn't believe what he was doing. It was happening again; you doing nothing to stop him from taking the land that you were raised on. After Denmark conquered half of your custody, you had to switch house to house; from Norway's to Denmark's. Also during that time, both of them were in constant battle over who you were going to marry, and become part of. You tried ending the fights a couple times, or just trying to get a word in, but to no avail. In 1814, Denmark declared you his, and only his. Marrying the happy country actually wasn't as bad as you original thought. After the "ceremony", Denmark told you that all will be made up for in time. At first, you didn't believe him, but for once, someone wanted to make things right with you. Denmark gave you little gifts and boutiques of flowers. He'd also stand up, and protect you. For once, you were happy again.
