This is a depressed Lithuania x Reader

Lithuania's POV

Some say that fear is subjective. If you have a fear of something then you can get over it as easily as gaining said fear. Fear is an emotion induced by perceived danger or threat, which causes physiological changes and ultimately behavioral changes, such as mounting an aggressive response or fleeing the threat. All mortals have such an intense instinct. It keeps people alive and has for thousands of years. Then why do I feel so scared? So terrified? So trapped?

Has everything up to this point led up to this moment? Where I am under the large authority of Mr. Russia and treated like a serf? I used to be a strong nation, so what happened to me? It all started when I met Russia, I guess... He told me that he would become strong, and I guess I wasn't prepared for it.

Here, I sit at my dark wood desk, with my head in my hands, as my slender fingers claw at my brown hair. Tears painfully streamed from my hollow green eyes. The stress. The pain. The sorrow. I guess I bottled up these emotions for too long. Out of nowhere, there was a knock on my door.

"Mr. Lithuania?" The soft voice spoke from the other side of the door. I fixed myself up as best as I could, before telling the well-known voice to come in. There the most beautiful woman I have ever seen came into the room and toward my desk. Her name was (Y/N) (L/N) and she was an intern, that worked in the government offices for a couple of weeks now. Her beauty could revival Miss Hungary's or Miss Belarus's. Beneath her looks, she was the kindest soul. She would greet me every time we met in the hallway and she would bring me all sorts of treats and goodies whenever she got the chance, "May I come in?"

"O-Of course! C-Come in..." I said meekly, before watching the heavy door open and close. She truly was radiant today. (Y/N) slowly walked over to my mahogany desk, setting down some paperwork. Once her beautiful eyes met mine, her persona seemed to dim the tiniest minuscule.

"Have you been alright, Mr. Lithuania? Your tears stain your cheeks and eyes." Just like that, my tears started to flow once more. (Y/N), the kind soul she was, walked behind my desk and held me close to her. I could hear her heart beat slowly in her chest. Her graceful fingers ran through my hair and against my back. There was silence. It wasn't uncomfortable in the slightest. It had calmed me down once more, "Please tell me what is going on. I know that you aren't like the rest of us and I know your insecurities run much deeper than stress, but I don't like seeing you in such a depressed state, Mr. Lithuania. I'm here to listen."

"I-It's... Russia... The way he treats me and everyone else makes my blood boil. I wish to help everyone, but I can't do anything. I once was a strong nation, with an unbeatable army and countless allies, yet where did it all go? When did it vanish into thin air? (Y/N)? Has my life really been for nothing?! Has all my efforts to be strong been in vain?!" My voice was booming at this point, and I had made (Y/N) very uncomfortable; Nevertheless, she held me close and I felt secure.

"If I may be blunt, I don't know how to respond..." She paused, figuring out what to say before she continued, "But, just know that I am always here for you. No matter how dark your path may be."

"But you are a mortal and I live as long as my country!" She placed her finger idly, smiling at me with her usual kind persona, "And I will do just the same. As long as you live, I will always be walking around in your heart, living rent free." My stress was gone. Not gone forever, but the beautiful and kind woman in front of me had managed to calm my nerves. Taking a chance, I kissed her cheek, not wanting to infringe on her feeling too much. The woman I loved grew flustered, as her entire face went strawberry red. Almost like her reaction was contagious, my cheeks lit up the same color.

"I-I'm so s-sorry!!" I apologized quickly, feeling guilty for making the situation awkward. She put her hand over her mouth and turned away from me before mumbling,

"I-It's okay... I just w-wasn't expecting it is all," Before leaving the room in a hurry.

I love her so much.
