Chapter 22

Jeongguk was chilling at the club with his friends. Most of them were the ones he used to play basketball with. One of them, Yugyeom.

Jeongguk finds him super annoying.
The guy won't take 'No' for an answer and Jeongguk really don't have patience for people who are not Kim Taehyung.

"Are you really going to waste your youth waiting for someone who don't even like you?" Yugyeom bitterly spat after Jeongguk rejected him for the fifth time that night.

Jeongguk groaned, annoyed.
"Its none of your business. Get lost Yugyeom!" He said and pushed himself up from the couch.

He walked towards the bar and called for another shot of whiskey.

After Taehyung left with Jeonsoo, Jeongguk decided to go out with his friends but he regrets his decision as soon as he saw Yugyeom.

Now he can't even get drunk because the last time he drank with Yugyeom around, the guy straddled him and forced a kiss on his lips. But luckily, the other guys who knows how Jeongguk despise Yugyeom were there and they managed to drag him away.

His head is throbbing due to the loud music and he don't even like the music.

He is just not in the mood.

His mind is occupied by his disobedient son.

Where did I go wrong? Is it because I neglected him when he was a child? He asked himself.

"Never thought you'd end up alone in a bar in a Tuesday night, do you?"

He heard a familiar voice beside him.

He chuckled lightly and doesn't bother deny the elder 's statement.

"Hi Yoongi hyung." He greeted lazily.

"I can't believe I end up here!" The pale guy grumbled.

"How did you end up here?" Jeongguk questioned.

Yoongi sighed in exasperation.

"My husband kicked me out! Said he needed some time alone with the kids!"

Jeongguk laughed at that.

After reconciling with Taehyung, Jeongguk had also become close with the Mins.

"They're planning a birthday party for me. I bet they'll be ready with a cake when I get back." Yoongi said while rolling his eyes but his voice was full of fondness.

Jeongguk envied him so much. He wish he can have that kind of happiness and security with Taehyung.

"You're a lucky guy, hyung!" Jeongguk said while taking a shot of his whiskey.

He felt Yoongi's gaze on him.

"What?" He asked with a light chuckle.

"You can be lucky Jeongguk. You can be happy again."

Jeongguk chuckled dryly and lightly shook his head.

"Yeah. I know hyung. But.. I'll never be truly happy again." He said.

He felt Yoongi patting him on the back.

"Yah! I'm going to do my thing! Hyung is here! Don't worry. I'll help you win Taehyung back again. Just trust me!"

Jeongguk laughed at that because that's just so ridiculous.

"You're ridiculous!" He laughed.

But Yoongi was serious.

"Trust me Jeongguk." He simply stated.

Jeongguk chuckled once again.

"Why now?" He asked even though he believes there's nothing Yoongi can do to change Taehyung's mind.

"I love Taehyung. He's like a little brother to me. And after knowing you for all these years, I think you deserve a second chance." Yoongi said.

"But I left him all those years ago. I was a coward and I really fucked up choosing fame over him. Now look where that got me! Drinking alone in a crowded club in a Tuesday night!" Jeongguk said with a humourless laugh.

"I love him hyung! And I can't and won't be with other people for my whole life but I can't expect him to get back with me even if that's all I want. I'll just love him from a far, making sure he loves right and is being loved right. Even though it kills me to see him with other man." Jeongguk said with a sad smile and tears in his eyes.

"Yah! Don't be such a pussy! Why you're talking like all hope is gone?" Yoongi playfully scolded him.

Jeongguk chuckled.

"There's really no hope, hyung. He made it pretty clear to me. Plus look at us! I made no progress during these past five years. And now he's dating this awesome doctor and he's taking him out on dates regularly!" Jeongguk exclaimed with a very fake enthusiasm.

"So you're just giving up?" Yoongi asked.

Jeongguk chuckled, again.

"I will never stop loving Taehyung and I won't be able to move on from him but if he's happy with this doctor, who am I to ruin it for him?"

Yoongi sighed.

"Why do you sound so fucking hopeless?"

Jeongguk let out a dry laugh.

"Taehyung told me to not have hope every time I make a move or even look at him too long."

Yoongi chuckled and leaned closer to the younger.

"Why do you think I end up here? Do you honestly think I came here on my own accord?" He asked.

Jeongguk looked while raising his eyebrows.

"Its sure weird to find you here." He said.

Yoongi just smirked and pulled out his phone from his pocket.

And showed a message he received from a particular someone.

"Hyung, Jimin told me that they kicked you out for a while! And I know you don't really have a particular place you want to go. Can you pretty please do me a favour? I'll babysit the kids for a week and you'll have your husband all to yourself!

I saw a picture of Jeongguk online and he was hanging out with that pervert scumbag who tried to take advantage of him last time they hang out.

They are in the club near your area so please! Can you check on him? To make sure he don't get so drunk with Yugyeom around.

I'll be forever grateful to you!

And please don't let him know that I text you? Yeah?

Jeongguk read the message over and over again.

He still cares about me!

He squealed. He fucking squealed.

He didn't even minded Yoongi's judging eyes.

"Hyung! Taehyung still cares for me!" He announced.

Yoongi smirked.

"Told you! Now trust me and follow my instructions."

Jeongguk allowed his heart to flutter and let a little bit of hope ignite inside his heart.

"Lets just hope you know what you're doing. Oh my God! I'm so desperate! I can't believe I'm trusting you with this!" Jeongguk groaned, embarrassed.

But.

He don't really mind.

He's just so happy that Taehyung still cares for him.
