I clutched the neck underneath my tightening fingers, hearing the gasps that escaped a pair of lungs from in front of me.

I stared the person dead in the eyes, them wild with fear and growing red at the whites from the lack of oxygen. No smile lingered to my lips as I watched them suffer in their almost silent agony, no fury in my chest burning nor my vision growing red. I was blank.

They fought with all their might against me at first, their arms flailing as they tried to kick me at my knees. The few punches thrown caused my jaw to get knocked to the side a little, blood leaking into my mouth a little. My head had been slammed into a wall during the tumble, but it only throbbed a little, it soon wearing away into nothing. Other than that, I had no scratches.

The person tried to croak out something to me, their eyes burning with a new fire, their hands clawing at my own on their neck. I didn't understand anything that came away from their mouth, but I knew the hatred behind the words were something along the lines of being a bitch.

"Hey!"

I bit down on my lip, closing my eyes for a moment at the voice behind me. With my free hand, I reached up to tug my make-shift mask I had built into my hood over my face. I opened my eyes again, my hand dropping to my side away from the person who was being strangled.

The person collapsed to the ground, a large wheeze escaping them. I watched them wallow on the ground for a moment, color coming back to their skin. I was still blank to look down at them.

"It's you."

I turned around slowly, coming to meet the person who was speaking face to face.

Through the dark alley, I saw the face I knew too well; a mask covered their face, the top half to me exact. It was a navy blue once seen in the daylight, a silver lining the outside of it. I couldn't see their eyes from the mesh that hung there, the same silver as the outline. Their blank hair, though, fell into their eyes a little, their lips pursed into a tight line.

I always had to cover up a laugh whenever I saw them. Despite them being taller than I was, the stupid bodysuit they had on was the same colors as the mask, navy blue as the main color, the boots and gloves silver. Some red was mixed in with the center of their chest, an intricate design of some sort covering the front. I could never tell what it was.

"I think it's time for you to finally stop this," the person in the suit said, taking a step towards me. "You must pay for what you've done."

I never said a word. I never did in front of them. With the person behind me still wheezing and gasping for a breath, I look over to spot a fire escape to a building. It still seemed intact, perfect as an escape from the nagging of the person in the suit.

I started off in a small sprint, only to take a jump. The force of my jump was high enough to where I landed just on the first deck of the fire escape, a large clang coming to ear. I crouched for a moment to gain my grounds, then took off into a sprint once more up the stairs, taking three at a time with my large jumps.

I heard the person with the suit call out to me, but both of us knew I was going to fast for them to catch up; that was what always happened. I flicked my mask back up underneath my hood, still keeping the cloth over my hair to keep away my identity for the time being.

Once on the last floor to the top, I bounced up, coming onto the roof. I did a roll across the ground, keeping myself from getting achy for later. I didn't hear the person pursuing me, which made me stop and gain my composure once more.

I heard the person reassuring the other on the ground. I bit down on my lip, shaking my head at it. If only they knew the truth.
