Some time after Defender 11 disappeared into his room and I retired to mine, I heard the door to the small apartment-like place open in its rolling path. The door to my room was cracked open, so I could hear it open clearly. My head popped up from the drawer that suddenly a random number of shirts magically popped up from, curious to the new intruder.
With a sigh coming from out in the common area, I sneaked over to the door. I wasn't as scared as I was when I thought that they would all find my weak spot, but instead it was only a small threat that would only hurt me if it hit the one out of twenty chances on my body.
Peeking out into the common area through the crack of the door, I found a guy to me yanking off a full face mask that was a dark green. A lighter pink hair popped into existence, it everywhere and all messy and crazy. He seemed shorter than Defender 11, but also taller than me.
I opened the door a little bit more to find the dark green outfit that went with his mask, it lined with gold and having almost a scale-like pattern on the legs. It was a full body suit, his green and gold hand reaching up and throwing his hair around, sweat showing along his hairline then. Despite himself looking exhausted, he had a sparkle in his eye that had a welcoming feel to it.
"Hey, Eleven!" the guy called out, looking over at the door to Defender 11's room. "I'm back! Come parade me!"
There was no movement from Defender 11's door, just silence.
The guy sighed, throwing his mask towards his door and walking the opposite towards the other man's door. Though, the guy suddenly stopped in the middle of the room, almost like he spotted something. I started to shrink back instinctively.
His body slowly turned towards my door, noticing it was cracked open. Our eyes met for a moment, mine widening while his suddenly went dark, the sparkle in it disappearing.
I backed away from the door instantly, hearing the guy's footsteps hurrying towards my room. I was knocked onto my butt on accident on the bed, the door snapping open at the same time I fell. The guy stood in the doorway, but only for a second until he lashed out completely towards me.
His hand gripped onto my new long sleeved shirt I had gotten from the dresser in the front, throwing me onto the ground. A cry escaped me as the adrenaline started to pump up once more, images flashing through my mind.
The blood, the sneers, the sweat all flooded into my head. I had been treated nicer than I had ever been treated in the compound, but this new attack set me off into my old ways, but faster than I had ever expected.
The warmth shot straight through my limbs as the guy went to grab me again and hold me against my will. His hand gripped my shirt again, but my turn came to where I grabbed his wrist faster than ever, flipping him behind me and onto the floor just near my head. My legs bounced me straight up, the warmth almost making myself hit the ceiling.
"Jimin, wait!"
I never realized it, but I had pressed myself into the corner like a wild animal, pants escaping my body. The guy was flipped down on the ground, his eyes wide and staring at the ceiling. I couldn't recognize faces as I found a person at the door, their blur of a hood in their face.
"That's her!" the person on the ground screamed, hopping back to his feet with his eyes wild. "That's Class 3: Ego 12!"
"Stop!" I screamed at them, tangling my hands into my hair with all the power I had. I felt the wall crumpling behind me as I pressed myself more and more into it. "Leave me alone!"
"You set her off," the person in the door hissed at the guy who had gotten to his feet. The guy still looked wild, but the person at the door started to approach me. "Hey, it was a big misunderstanding. Calm down."
The warmth in my limbs remained, my heart throbbing in my chest and slowly lifting up to my throat. I croaked out, "Don't touch me!"
The person cloaked stopped in their path, holding out there hands to show me nothing was going to happen. "That's Defender 27. He's my friend." The person turned to the guy with the pink hair. "Apparently you already know who she is. I suggest you leave until she calms down."
Defender 27 looked between me and the hooded figure, trying to figure out something. My hands started to shake, which wasn't like me at all. An involuntary cry, like a sob, almost escaped my mouth before I could clasp my hand over it. What was happening to me?
"I need answers," Defender 27 finally said, growling over to the person. "After you're done calming her down, come find me in the lab."
The person never said anything as Defender 27 hurried out of the room, looking at me in fear and with caution for multiple reasons. He closed the door when he left, leaving me and the person in the hood in the room.
"You need to calm down," the person in the hood said. I was starting to notice them as Defender 11. "I know this isn't you. You're more calm and collected on the streets. If we can just get you to cool off, you'll be okay again."
"What's happening to me?" I slightly stuttered, holding out my shaky hands in front of me, watching my fingers twitch rapidly. The heat was overwhelming now inside me. It was becoming unbearable.
"We have an energy running through the compound," Defender 11 explained to me, taking a small step towards me. "It heightens powers for those who have them. It's for training purposes. Though, we've never had an accident like this."
"I . . . I'm usually okay when someone comes at me like that," I whispered, slipping my arms around my midsection to hold myself together just a little. "Why . . . ?"
Defender 11 was becoming closer by the minute, but it wasn't apparent to me. "Do you want to tell me what happened that got you so worked up?"
I bit down on my lip, pushing my head into the wall. The wall caved in a little there, causing myself to jump out of surprise. I didn't go high, but definitely higher than a normal person would if they got scared.
Defender 11 was close enough now to where he grabbed onto my shoulders gently, holding me there. His sudden touch made my whole self start to relax. No one had comforted me like that in a long time. That triggered the pleasant feeling, despite it only being a small amount of touch that started to stop my hands shaking.
"Okay, we're getting somewhere," he nodded to himself a bit. Odd enough, even from the close proximity of us, I still couldn't see my eyes. "Just try and relax. Think of something happy. That always helps me when I start to get out of hand."
Soon enough, Defender 11 had me almost completely calmed down, the warmth in my body disappearing. He had me sit on the edge of my bed with a finally kind tone after the day of being cold towards me, reassuring me that everything was better. That's when he told me he was going to head out of the place for a little and find Defender 27.
I slightly wanted to go with him, but I didn't want to see Defender 27. Not until I was completely calmed down. I didn't want to hurt anyone or myself again. I had enough excitement for the day.
If that's how much I was freaking out people, then I was starting to regret my decision of signing that contract.
