I hit the ground, my knees bending while I rocked on my heels a little. My vision was starting to grow red with anger, myself unable to think straight. There was no adrenaline, though, that coursed through me for my fight.

I heard a small gasp off in the corner, finding Hoseok's bloodshot eyes to widen at my sudden appearance. His jaw dropped a little, droplets of blood running off from his lips to his chin and dripping down his neck. The past sorrow was replaced with awe for a moment.

Taehyung's attention turned away from Hoseok, his eyes glaring my way. He didn't dare take a step, though, as he said, "How the hell did you get here?"

"Leave them alone," I growled, my fists clenching at my sides. With the new, profound anger that poured through me, I was starting to shake a little. "They're not part of this."

"I never knew they had relations with you," Taehyung hissed at me, pointing at Yoongi's motionless body. "I was going to exterminate both of them, but I've only had the time to kill one of them. I never meant for that to happen, but I had no choice after them helping you."

"They're my family!" I screamed at him a little, infuriated tears building up behind my eyes. My body was starting to shake profusely at the stress that it was undergoing. "You had no means of hurting them! Stop this!"

"This isn't the Y/N I know and love," Taehyung's eyes narrowed a little, his words coming out in a seethe in the process. "What happened to you? You're helping the stupid heroes out that unnecessary for the population. They shouldn't exist! They're human experiments! You became soft for them."

"I grew out of being that horrible evil I was years ago," I spat at him, taking a step towards him involuntarily. "Sure, I've been stuck in a bad place but I'm not who I once was. Bad things just keep happening one after another, but I thought that the heroes were annoying. They kept getting into my messes that I didn't want them to interfere with. I didn't want them gone!"

Taehyung glared at me for a second, then whispered, "You're better than this."

"What do you want me to do?!" I screeched at him, my voice bouncing off of the walls. Tears stung my eyes while Hoseok winced a little at how loud my voice was off to the side. "Kill all the Defenders with you? To have some kind of domination over the city population? To create evil? I've realized how much chaos that is over these past days of seeing the mistakes I've made in my life come back to bite me in the ass."

I barely noticed Taehyung reaching behind his back, his hand landing on one of his back pockets. "Admit it, you did hate the heroes that surround us. You hated them so much that you just wanted to rip one to shreds. We all wanted to do that; but my men tell me that you've been hugging onto one of the heroes very tightly."

I froze for a moment at that. I had forgotten all about Jungkook during the confrontation with Taehyung. I was shocked that Taehyung knew about Jungkook, but he would've known anyways. With how many of Taehyung's minions were chasing after me and Jungkook, it wasn't hard to find that I was glued to his side.

"What is he to you?" Taehyung continued, his voice going low, it a deep rumble. I was almost completely frozen as he approached me slowly. "Are you the sidekick? Are you friends? Or is there more to the story . . . ?"

"Stop," I croaked, shaking my head. I was becoming a little dizzy, my head unable to wrap around the idea of Taehyung following us with almost every step without being there. "It . . . It's none of your business."

"What if I told you that he might not be so super in about an hour." Taehyung's voice kept getting lower, making me shakier. I was unable to realize how close he was getting. "He might be . . . normal."

"What the hell," I cried out, my voice cracking from stress. I took a step back, my stomach starting to eat itself out of the fear that was taking over, no anger left to replace it. "Y . . . You can't do that. He's the only Defender--" My voice cut off there.

It happened so quick, but Hoseok called out my name with urgency. My muddled brain wasn't able to process his words quick enough to find Taehyung reaching out with a knife and slashing at the front of my neck with it.

A cry escaped me as I stumbled back out of the small sting that came with it, my back falling against the wall that held the vent I came in through. My heel made contact with the cover of the vent, it making a large clang. Through the sensations of my skin and the loud noise, the instant fire flooded through my veins quicker than I had ever felt it.

Looking up at Taehyung, the anger hit my body like a train, replacing the confusion with the defensive instinct.

I ran at Taehyung, ready to throw him against the wall, but his attack was more planned than mine. I was taken by surprised when he dodged me with ease, his hand grabbing onto the top of my head and I ran past and pulled something down. I never realized it was my hood, my brain too focused on taking down the enemy at the time.

I took another shot at taking down Taehyung, reaching out with a hand to grip onto his shirt to throw him down. I was victorious while doing this, but he instantly wrapped his arms around me, pinning me to his chest. The confusion that raced through me didn't give me enough time to recognize that his hand was pushing back the hair on my neck and bringing it to the side.

That's when I felt it.

A scream gave out from my mouth, the burning fire of being injured again on the back of my neck instantly crippling me. This wasn't like last time where it was just almost a nick, but this time it was a deep slash, something that cut through my skin like butter. The fire in my veins grew more hot, the blood that poured from my neck feeling warm and smelling like iron.

Taehyung's arms came away from me, letting me crumple to the ground like a rag doll. Screams kept escaping me as I reached a hand around, clapping the area with it. Nothing existed anymore except me and my cut that burned like a million suns scalding my skin.

The fire in my veins was now like molten lava. My whole body was starting to ache like my neck, it starting from my spine to the rest of my limbs. I could feel my organs shutting down, my blood stopping, my body becoming numb. Everything was dying, everything turning into something lifeless that was going to make me fall to my demise.

And that's when my body decided to take the rest of life around me down with my dying, numbing being.
