I laid there on the couch, an arm draped over my eyes to keep the spotlights out of my eyes. My head throbbed a little in the inside, a headache forming. I hadn't gotten a headache in a long time, so the pain was tremendous since I was so used to the external pain being so limited. The pain receptors showed me the torturous pain that hit my head.

I had calmed down by then, the reminiscence of the chaos a memory in my brain. Nothing hurt from Defender 27 attacking me, but it the shock of him coming after me was still fresh. I had forgotten that I was still myself: a threat to the compound and everyone in it. I was starting to understand more why Defender 27 came after me.

The door to the small apartment opened up, a rush of cold air pushing into the room, it crashing over the couch's top like a wave and onto me. A shudder ran down my spine while goosebumps coated my arms.

"Y/N?"

Why was Defender 11's voice so familiar, almost like it was ingrained into my head? I couldn't seem to figure it out as I unlatched my arm from my eyes and sat up. My head spun a little, but I looked behind the couch to find the two heroes staring at me; well, one staring and the other standing there with a hood over his head.

"You're back," I murmured, pressing my palm against my forehead for a moment to try and relieve some tension in my head, but it didn't work.

Defender 11 placed a hand on Defender 27's back, pushing the guy more towards me. Defender 27 seemed to stutter a bit at that, but ended up more in front of Defender 11. He now had on more casual clothing and not the suit he had come in with originally.

"I'm sorry about what I did," Defender 27 said, reaching a hand up to the back of his neck and rubbing it a little. I could practically feel my neck having that sensation, my legs going weak at the imaginary feeling. "I never knew you joined the Services."

I gripped the hem of my shirt in a fist, trying to rid of the false touch and focus on my own body. "It's . . . okay. I can understand why you did what you did. You were just protecting you and Defender 11."

Defender 27 approached me a little bit more, holding out his hand for me to shake it. It took all my will to not jump back out of fear of anymore dispute. "I'm Jimin."

I looked at Defender 27's, or rather Jimin's, hand for a moment. After some hesitation, I reached out and shook it quickly. "Y/N."

"We got you some food while we were passing the cafeteria," Defender 11 finally spoke, walking over to us. I noticed he had a paper bag in his hand. He handed it over to me carefully. "We had something on the way here, but you haven't had dinner yet."

I opened up the bag, glancing over the contents. My mouth watered at the sight. I felt like I hadn't eaten properly in the past couple of days. I looked up at the two men and gave them a faint smile. "Thanks."

We all settled down again, Jimin and Defender 11 coming around to the couch and plopping down near me. I started pulling things out of the bag, finding stuff that I never had time to make at home. I always wanted to have them, but there had been so much chaos in my life that I couldn't cook them. Now with them in my hand, I was growing excited for something to eat.

While munching, Defender 11 started speaking. "They won't have your suit done until Saturday, so the next couple of days I'll be training you. I've had a sidekick or two in the past, so we need to learn the rhythm of each other. It will help us in battle if we need to work together."

I took a bite of the salad that was in a container in my lap, a small nod coming with it. "That sounds good, but train how?"

"Using your powers, of course," Jimin said with a shrug. He had already sprawled out on the couch and was staring at the black TV. "Despite once being an Ego, you have some pretty decent ones."

"I do?"

"I mean, with the ones we have logged down," Defender 11 said this time. "Super strength, the ability to jump high, fast healing. Those are the powers we had logged for you. Are those all correct?"

I pursed my lips, slowly chewing on some chicken that had been tossed into the salad. They had the fast healing half right. It was invincibility to be exact. Though, I didn't want to tell them about that. I felt like it was something that I couldn't trust anyone with that knowledge. Plus, the back of my neck was my Achilles heel. If they knew that, I would be screwed.

"That's all right," I mumbled through my food, poking around my salad with my fork. The seasoning from the chicken still danced around in my mouth, the taste heavenly.

"We should probably get other things off of her file, too," Jimin said, looking over to Defender 11 from the other side of the U-shaped couch. "She's obviously not a mute and isn't completely unstable." He smirked at that and gave me a little wink.

"After training tomorrow I'll go and change her file over to a Defender and update it," Defender 11 said, tapping his right index finger against his thigh. "I doubt Namjoon changed it at all."

"I don't know how you guys can stand him," I said, taking the water bottle that came with the meal and opening it. "He's too overwhelming for me. He's all over the place most of the time and won't shut up."

A smile wavered on Defender 11's lips while Jimin released a burst of a loud laugh. I jumped a little at it, thankfully at a normal height rather than the escalating power I had earlier.

"You hit that so accurately!" Jimin exclaimed, a broad smile on his face. He looked over to me and pointed my way. "You know what? I like you. You're staying with us."

"Oh," I breathed with a nervous laugh, stabbing my fork into a piece of chicken hiding underneath some lettuce. "Are you sure about that? I don't want to be a bother and everyone seems nervous to be around me--"

"Nope, you're staying here," Jimin cut me off, shaking his head. "We need another person here that isn't afraid to make fun of Namjoon and his job."

"Is that against the contract?"

"Nope," Jimin said. He sat up, his eyes sparkling like earlier before he had our first interaction. "You're all good with that. We're also secretive about that stuff, so you're okay."

"Um, okay," I said with a shrug, closing up the little container the salad and chicken came in. "I guess that's settled?"

"You're going to fit in well here."
