"Alright, let's start talking."
I never realized how many guys were left after what had happened. There were only four in front of us, all wide eyed and staring at me with horror. I didn't say a word, just stared at them. After what I had done, I seemed to have the upper hand.
Jungkook sat in front of them in a chair, his arms crossed over the top of the back piece with the chair backwards. He gave them an emotionless glare, looking like he wasn't going to take no for an answer. Our demeanors had changed from when we were outside the room drastically.
"What are you doing with all of those appendixes?" Jungkook said lowly, leaning in a little towards the men. I saw one of the smaller guns that the men had on them balanced on Jungkook's thigh, there just in case anything went wrong.
No one said a word. Not a peep. They were all dead silent, them all still staring at me with their fear, but their resistance was still in line. They were trained to not give out any information. That was going to be the hard part of trying to crack them.
Jungkook's hand drifted down to the gun balanced on his lap, one fingernail giving a ping to a metal piece on it. Nothing happened with the men in front of us, but he said, "If you're not going to tell us anything, we'll have no choice but to start off with killing down the line."
Still nothing.
I cleared my throat, scooting off of the desk I was sitting on. Everyone's eyes turned to me, including Jungkook, once my feet hit the floor. I was starting to feel better from earlier, my gunshots almost completely healed. I wandered a little over to Jungkook, stopping about a foot away from him.
"Maybe we have another way to get what we need with a different method," I raised an eyebrow at the men a little. I grabbed onto the gun that Jungkook had on his lap and cocked it back. The men's eyes all widened while Jungkook watched me with curiosity.
I slowly made my way over to the men, crouching down in front of the one all the way to my right. I made it to his eye line, studying his face. His chest was heaving like he couldn't catch a breath as he pressed his back into the wall behind him. He was cornered.
I brought my eyes away from his, looking over him. His hands were bonded together with zip ties in his lap, his legs out in front of him and ankles tied together. He was incapable of moving. I poked my gun as his left foot, causing him to jump a little.
I looked up at him, a smirk wavering over my lips. A sigh escaped me as I rolled my neck for a moment, only to come back with glaring eyes. "I consider myself to be a pretty knowledgeable person. I'm sure I could find a spot that wouldn't hit an artery but still cause tremendous pain."
"The heroes are under arrest," the guy squeaked out, too afraid to even consider the thought of protecting their little secret. "We have nothing to do with it, though. Just deliver the packages. That's all."
I bit down on my tongue for a second, trying to think of another question that wouldn't put the blame on them yet. "What packages?"
"We can't--"
A shot popped off in the room, a scream escaping with it. It was from the man next to the guy I was talking to, a bullet going through his foot. I didn't know exactly where the arteries were, so it was more of a guess than precise shooting.
The guy in front of me's eyes widened, his respiration becoming more and more frequent. Despite the ringing in my ears, I heard him say, "We know they're appendixes, but we don't know what for! Please stop this!"
With how terrified he looked at the blood of his friend beside him, I knew he was telling the truth. He didn't want to get hurt or killed. He wanted to live. I didn't cock back the gun again because I was going to get answers out now with the scare.
"How many men were anchored here before we came?" I asked, nodding towards Jungkook to tell them who "we" are. "Precise numbers, please."
"Ten," the guy stuttered, turning to look at the four that were plastered against the wall. He ignored his friend's bleeding foot and agony-filled face. "Exactly ten."
Going back to memory, I only remembered killing five guys. I furrowed my eyebrows together, looking back at Jungkook. He didn't seem confused, so I asked him, "Did you kill anyone?"
He shook his head slowly. "You were the only one."
I turned back to the guy, cocking the gun back as a bit of anger flooded through me. It was a quick shot, myself hitting the lower part of his calf and getting up from the ground. A small screamed escaped him, it sounding through gritted teeth as I turned around to face Jungkook. I ran a hand through my mangled hair anxiously.
"What?" Jungkook got up from his chair, his eyebrows furrowing together. "Did something happen?"
I approached him quickly, saying under a low breath through the guy's cries of pain, "I only killed five. We have four here. We lost one."
Jungkook's eyebrows relaxed, but his big eyes widened. He seemed to go into a small panic. "What are we supposed to do now? Where did he run off to?"
"He might've gone back to their base to report us interrupting their little operation here," I whispered, looking down at the gun in my hand. "If he did that, we probably have to get out of here as soon as possible because they'll come back to kill us with a shit ton of backup."
"What do we do with them then?" Jungkook hissed, nodding his head towards our little prisoners. "We can't keep them here and have them tell us off."
"I didn't plan on killing anyone again today, but it seems like we have to do that," I sighed, cocking the gun back again. I knew I didn't have enough rounds to kill all of them, so I said to Jungkook, "Grab another gun and shoot two in the head. I got the others."
Jungkook's face went pale for a second, but he gave a sharp nod. I turned away from him as he quickly grabbed another confiscated gun off of the desk that was in the room with us. I didn't give him any time before I shot two of the men, waiting on Jungkook to do the rest.
There was a short moment of panic between the two men who were still alive, but Jungkook ended it as soon as it started. I turned off my emotions the best I could while seeing the new, bloody mess against one wall. I didn't think Jungkook did the same as I threw my gun down on the floor and dragged him out of the room.
His gun had clattered to the floor on the way out of the building, myself taking off in a run while tugging Jungkook behind me. I could feel his body had gone stiff with a bit of shock, almost unable to cooperate with me. I tried to ignore it while guiding us out of the place.
No one had been there thankfully when we left. I dragged Jungkook behind me for a few blocks until we got to the main streets where people usually lingered about. The sun was starting to set, casting orange shadows across the street while a chilling wind nipped at my face. It suddenly felt like when I used to run the streets at night.
Jungkook and I came to a small stop, the both of us out of breath from our run. No one was really around, just a couple of people here and there. Jungkook's hand broke away from mine, only for him to place it and the other on his knees. The color of his face was still drained after being in the building, him going completely pale.
"Hey," I breathed, my stomach dropping a little. I placed a hand on his back, rubbing it a little. "Let's get you back to the hotel room. You need to calm down."
"Yeah," Jungkook said in a whisper. "Yeah . . . "
