Crystal's POV

I was in an Altean pod at one of the corners of the massive teludav. The other paladins were in their positions, waiting for Shiro to give the mark. Leo was perched on my shoulder, in an almost consoling way. Allura, Coran, Slav, and Kolivan were gathered in front of the crowd of Olkari who had come to see us lift off.

"Everyone, lock into position. We're taking this thing up." Shiro commanded. I maneuvered the pod so that it was hooked underneath the rim of the teludav. Slowly, but surely, the teludav started lifting off the ground. The Castle Ship launched next to us, pulling ahead rather quickly. Soon enough, we were in orbit and no longer needed to fully power the thrusters.

"Everyone, come inside the Castle so we can go over the plan one last time," Shiro said over the comms. As soon as I landed my pod, the first thing I saw was Pidge. She was pacing back and forth, a nervous expression on her face. As soon as she saw me exit the pod, she took a deep breath and walked over to me.

"Crystal?" she stared. "I wanted to apologize." To be completely honest, I was shocked. That was not at all what I expected her to say.

"What?" was the only thing that could leave my mouth.

"I wanted to apologize for how I treated you when it was revealed that you were Galra." she clarified. My expression softened.

"Pidge...you don't need to be-" I started, but she cut me off.

"Yes, I should apologize! When I heard you were Galra, I kept thinking about my dad and brother and that was blocking my reasoning. I kept thinking about how you were part of them, but then I forgot that you've had to deal with it, too." Tears we starting to form in the corners of her eyes. "I was treating you like a monster when in reality, I was the monster. And it's okay if you hate me because I was a horrible person to you!"

I quickly pulled her into a hug, her head nestled in my chest. She started sobbing, tears rolling down her cheeks freely.

"Oh, Pidge." I started. "I could never hate you. You are the best thing that's ever happened to me." I started rocking her back and forth, like how my father used to.

"R-really?" she asked, looking up at me. I leaned over slightly and placed a small kiss on her lips.

"Really," I confirmed. A few silent moments passed, Pidge still in my arms.

"Crystal? Pidge? Where are you?" a voice rang in our comms.

"I just got out of my pod. Why?" I asked.

"We're waiting for you guys to show up so we can go over the plan," Shiro responded.

"We're on our way up," Pidge informed.

--------------------------------------------------------------

"All right, guys, listen up." Shiro started. "I'll use the Black Lion to lure Zarkon's fleet to our current location and make sure he's within the teludav's area of effect. Keeping the teludav hidden behind the space-fold until the last possible second is essential. We can count on you, right, Slav?" Shiro then turned his attention to the alien.

"Absolutely. I'll be fine. I'm sure about the gravity generator, though." he lowered his voice at the last part, but it was still audible.

"What? What was that last thing?" Hunk asked.

"Hiding a ship is one thing, but I've never had to build a gravity generator for something this large before. I know it'll work, but I'm really sure for how long."

"Well, that's a risk we'll have to take," Shiro said. "Once Zarkon's ship is in position, Kolivan and Antok will coordinate with Thace. Together, they'll take down Zarkon's security system and upload the virus."
