Divya's POV

" What happened?" He asked me. I came back to reality at once and gave the phone to him. He checked the caller ID and hung up then kept the phone aside and started to work again.

" Is it your birthday today?" I asked him. He nodded his head typing something on the laptop like it's not a big deal. " It's your birthday?!!" I asked him again.

" Yes, what's on that?" He said.

" What do you mean by what's on that?" I asked him and almost yelled.

" Ssssssshhhhhh, Ganga will be disturbed." He said to me and I sighed.

" It's your birthday today and you are saying that it is not a big deal?! What kind of human being are you?" I asked him.

" Rude, arrogant and short tempered human being who deserves nothing but hatred." He said checking something on the laptop. I sighed.

" No one deserves hatred until he is a killer or rapist. Even sometimes murderers can have a valid reason but no rapist can give a valid reason for his crime that he has committed. I don't think you are any of them." I said and he turned to me looking at me blankly for awhile then sighed deeply.

" I don't like celebrating my birthday. It's just like other days for me. Or may be more pathetic than that." He said and I sighed.

" Why is that?" I asked him.

" Just like that." He said.

" At least you should go to church and give Jesus Christ a visit. It will give you peace of mind." I said to him and he chuckled.

" We don't match each other." He said.

" Who?" I asked him.

" God and me. We like have a rivalry between us." He said.

" What??!" I said to him looking at him weirdly. Is he mad?!! Rivalry with God!!! Heck!!!

" Yes. He never listens to my prayers. This why I stopped talking to him." He said still looking at the laptop screen typing something on it.

" Wrong. He does listens to your prayers but if you asks for something which can make things worst for the situation then he wouldn't listen to you anyways." I said to him and he chuckled dryly.

" Yeah, right." He mocked.

" Why are you too stubborn? Do you even believe in God?" I asked him.

" I tried to forget Him but that rivalry between us didn't let me." He said and I sighed deeply.

" There is no rivalry between God and his children." I said to him. " When you believe in God it obviously gives you peace of mind and it gives you hope and strength to go ahead in life. Trust me if there were no God then people would have get frustrated easily and committed suicide after being facing troubles in life. There is God this is why there is a hope. He is like a promise of a beautiful future ahead. This is the reason why people keeps holding on." I said to him.

" That doesn't mean all the people who believes in God is not committing suicide." He said and I sighed.

" That is not the point. The point is they don't know how to face the situation. I always think that the person who committed suicide is a coward." I said to him.

" I think they are the bravest person in the world. Because they had enough courage to do so. But I myself couldn't. I was a coward in my point of view." He said without looking at me. I looked at him weirdly. What did he say!!! Why did he wanted to commit suicide!!!

" What?!!" I said.

" Nothing. Let's change the topic. I don't like to talk on this topic." He said and I sighed.

" You should realize the truth someday. Anyways, happy birthday, Mr. Kingston." I said.

" What's with Mr. Kingston. You can call me by my name. You keep calling me stupid all the time anyways." He said to me and I rolled my eyes.

" But you are my boss." I said to him.

" This is an order." He said and I glared at him which didn't work on him anyways. " And where is the gift? You are wishing me without a gift. That's not acceptable." He said looking back at the laptop. I rolled my eyes.

" I didn't know it's your birthday. If I knew then I would have definitely buy one." I said to him. He chuckled.

" I was kidding. But I will save that for later. I will ask something as a gift once Ganga gets well." He said and I sighed.

" Ok, as you say." I said and his phone was vibrating again. He picked the call up.

" Hello!!!" He said in a cold voice.

------------------

" Hmm... Ok. Thanks." He said.

-------------------

" I don't know. Bye." He said and hung up. He kept the phone aside but his facial expressions didn't change.

" Anything wrong?" I asked him.

" No." He said and I sighed.

" Your friend?" I asked him.

" Cousin." He said to me.

" Oh!! They do remember your birthday. See? You said they don't exist in your life." I said to him. He looked away outside of the window. I followed his gaze and found him looking at the busy street outside. Did I miss anything here?!

Yes, you did miss a big part of the maze. Ian Kingston is a mystery. My brain said to me and I nodded.

" Yeah, they do but they do it for a reason. A reason that I hate." He said. " Forget it."

" What happened?" I asked him. "Why are you talking like that?" I asked him.

" Not everyone are like your cousins, Divya." He said and stood up.

He walked to Ganga and checked her temperature placing his palm on her forehead. Then walked out of the room. I sighed. I stood up and sat next to Ganga. I don't know when I fall asleep. I woke up in the morning as usual as it is my habit. I opened my eyes and sunlight hit my eyes. I sat up and found myself wrapped Ian's jacket. Where is that guy?!! I looked around and found him leaning back on the couch sleeping crossing arms across his chest. I sighed and turned only to get a shock finding Ganga looking at me weirdly. I smiled at her. Blessings she was.
