Divya's POV
" Aapko yaaken hai ki yahi woh jagah hai?" (Are you sure this is that place?) I asked the taxi driver.
" Address to yahi ka hai, madam ji." (This is the address, ma'am.) He answered me.
" Accha thik hai phir." (Alright, then it's ok.) I said and got down from the car as I paid him already.
I ignored people's weird expression on me wearing my uniform. I hide my eyes behind the shades and took my phone to call my boss. What is he doing here!!! I mean this is slum area. Not that clean and hygienic. People like Ian Kingston can't survive a second here. But I have an experience seeing these slum dwellers lives. Because my use to run an NGO once up on a time. They use to help poor kids and bear expenses of their studies. But she had a huge fight with her director and left working with him. That's a different story. That guy was a greedy bast*rd.
So, when Amma used to work with that NGO I got a chance to see them very closely. I can only say that they live below the property line and their lives are not that easy. They have to struggle every day, every minute, every second for a better and secure life, for two time meals. The tricky game if politics. I don't know where our country is moving. The poor is becoming poorer and the rich are earning more and more becoming richer day by day. Then comes the silly promises that all the political parties makes before every election. If all those promises are kept then these people were not suffering like this still now. But it's in human nature they will still believe them for a better life in near future. Who knows if that future is near or far far away.
I called my boss and suddenly someone hold my hand. I turned and found Arun. I was shocked seeing him there like that. I never imagined to meet him again. I immediately freed my hand from his hold.
" Divya!!" He said to me but I rolled my eyes though he couldn't see that as my eyes were behind the shades. "Yaha Kya ker rahi ho tum?" (What are you doing here?) He asked me.
" It's none of your business, Mr. Dhilon." I said to my ex-fiance.
Yeah, right. Just fiance for name. If only my parents didn't insisted me I would never ever agreed to get engaged this early. I told them from the first that Dhilon family has a serious problem with my profession. They need a housewife for a daughter in law not a girl who works out of the house. I mean so called working woman in their words. So, it happened what it supposed to happen. That engagement didn't work. I myself broke it. Because, I hate guys like Arun. Selfish and coward. I never ever found the person in him I wanted as my life partner. I mean he directly told me he doesn't like me working as a pilot. Who does that kind of thing!!! Only he will do things like that who doesn't have any personality.
" Maine tumhe phone Kia tha. Tumne phone bhi nahi uthaya text ka bhi answer nahi dia." (I have called you. You didn't picked up the call, didn't even answered my texts.) He said.
" Apka number blacklist mai hai." (Your number is in blacklist) I said to him.
" Paata hai mujhe." (I know that) he said.
" To mujhe call kerna band ker dijiye." (Then stop calling me.) I said to him.
" Kya hum thodi der baat ker saktay hai?" (Can we talk for awhile?) He asked me.
" Hum baat hi ker rahe hai, Mr. Dhilon." (We are talking only, Mr. Dhilon.) I said to him.
" Yese nahi." (Not like this.) He said. "Can we meet somewhere else?" He asked me.
" I am sorry. Mere pas aap k liee koyi time nahi hai." (I don't have any time for you.) I said to him.
" I still love you." He said.
" But I hate you from the start." I said. " Don't show up in front of me again." I gritted.
" Let me explain please. Then take a decision." He said.
" Maine apko apni decision bohot pehle hi de dia. Abhi phirse sochne ki koyi time nahi hai mere pas." (I have given my decision long back. There is no time to think about it again) I said to him.
" Give me one more chance." He said.
" There is no 'one more' in my dictionary. You will have only one chance and you have to utilize that. You lost your own chance I can't help it. You should have thought about it before." I said to him.
" I will change." He said.
" Yes, change yourself. It will help you in future." I said to him. " All the best. Bye. Hope meet meet never again." I said and started to walk away from there. He called me from back but I ignored him.
" Divya, I will come back. You think about it again." He said.
" No use of coming back. My answer will be the same." I said.
I just hate people like this. I hope God gives him some sense. I was thinking and someone pulled my holding my hand. I looked up and found my boss. I looked ahead and found I was almost in the middle of the road.
" Where is your mind? You lost it somewhere?" He asked me and I rolled my eyes.
" Why have you called me here?" I asked him.
" Do you have any problem being here?" He asked me.
" I thought you will not be able to stand in this kind of place." I said to him. He chuckled.
" Leave it. Tell me who was that guy?" He asked me.
" Who?!" I asked him.
" He with whom you were talking then." He said and I sighed.
" He is my ex-fiance." I said. He chuckled.
" I see." He raised his eyebrows. "What does he want now?" He asked me.
" He is stupid. He wants to come back now." I said.
" What have you said to him?" He asked me.
" Definitely ignored him." I said and he chuckled.
" He is definitely the stupid of this era." He said and I looked at him weirdly.
