Divya's POV
" I am done, Cap. I have never ever been in this kind of situation in my 3 years of career." Laura told me.
" If you haven't faced the problems then you haven't been experienced enough yet, Laura. It is a part of our career." I said to her.
We were currently going to the hotel that has been booked for us. And Laura wasn't still out of the shock. I sighed.
" Nothing has happened but anything can happen anytime when the flight is in the sky. You have to be mentally prepared for that from the start, Laura. We can't complain about it. We have choose that profession by ourselves. There us no space to regret about it now." I said to her.
" Have you been in this kind of situation before, Cap?" She asked me.
" Not like that but once there were a situation that flight couldn't take off due to the failure of the engine. Both of the engine stopped. It was a horrible experience as well." I said to her. She sighed deeply.
" You need to sleep for awhile, Laura. Go to the hotel room and take rest. It will be out of your system." I said to her. She nodded.
We had to return tomorrow morning. It was almost late night now. After we landed in the evening we had to talk to the air traffic control and the airlines staffs as well. They assured to check the problem properly. I sighed. I don't know how has that happened?!! Even I myself have checked it along with Ragini, Soha and Armaan. How can the it loss the fuel mysteriously?!! I was thinking about it.
" Cap, I am confused about it. I myself did double checked the fuel content before the flight takes off. Then how come it get vanished?" She asked me.
" I don't know." I said to her. " Where you there when the fuel was loading?" I asked her.
" No, cap. I just was checking the database. It can't be false. Can it?" She asked me. I sighed.
" You can see this time it showed the wrong reading." I said to her.
" Yeah. But it sounds weird though." She said to me. I just nodded leaning back on the seat.
We reached the hotel and I got freshen up. I got a cup of coffee. I will be lying if I say that I wasn't scared at all. I was shocked the most of it. I took my phone and found 80+ missed calls from my boss and 100+ texts from him. I sighed. I called him back.
" Hello!!" I said to him. He kept silent for awhile. " Hello, are you there, Mr. Kingston?" I asked him.
" Where were you all that time?" He asked me.
" I was with the ATC staffs. Had to cooperate with them." I said to him.
" Very well. Why didn't you check the phone yet?" He asked me.
" Well, I am sorry about that. I was in mood. You know, I was shocked. I haven't seen this kind of issue in my whole career. How can the monitor show us a wrong reading!!!" I said to him. He sighed.
" We are trying to figure it out." He said. " It will be sorted out soon."
" Soon. Very well then." I said.
" I thought I will keep all the staffs now I think I have to kick some of them out for here. Mr. Kumar must be a fool." He said.
" Mr. Kingston, do you remember what I have told you when I have left NYA?" I asked him.
" What?" He asked me.
" I told you that when the flight is in the sky no one can help it but it's crews present there that time. No control panel can help them for real. Because they can only imagine how actually the problem is the sorting out process is dependent on the pilot and the crews. This what I have wanted to tell you but what did you tell me that you can leave. Do you understand now how dangerous it is?! If Laura and I left the hope and trying to contact with ATC that time then we had been gone by now. Situation was very very critical." I said to him and he kept silent for awhile.
" Control panel is the safest answer for you." He said.
" Talking to you is of no use." I said to him. " Can you tell me how can the monitor show us a wrong reading?" I asked him.
" They didn't check the monitors before taking off. I have called the board meeting tomorrow. We have to change the technician and the staffs who are related with this." He said.
" I thought you have already done that." I said to him.
" I didn't do it on NYA. Because they are responsible and sensible people. I thought here the staffs are like them. But most of them are corrupted." He said.
" What do you want to do now?" I asked him.
" Change some rules here. I have talked to one of my friends here who will help me to talk to the ministry of civil aviation." He said to me. I sighed.
" Don't think it will be so easy, Mr. Kingston. They are not so sensible like you think. Because most of the departments are filed of corruption. You will find a few honest people there who will try to help you but their mouth will be sealed as well. Moreover you are not a native person. They will never ever agree with you." I said to him.
" They don't know who I am." He said.
" And you don't know how the system works. You will not know when they will trap you. They will not let you think twice." I said.
" There is something which can trap them. There is something which can be a bait." He said.
" Yeah, there is." I said.
" What is that?" He asked me.
" Money." I said.
" What?!" He asked me.
" Yeah. You can bribe them and they will listen to every single word of yours." I said to him. He stayed silent.
" Let me talk to my friend." He said.
" Yes, you can talk to him. If he is in a position to help you in that." I said to him.
" You are thinking negatively all the time, Divya. If all the people would be corrupted then the system would be broken down already." He said and I sighed.
If only he had any idea about it.
