Ian's POV
" What are you doing?" Kabir asked me.
" Playing hockey. Wanna join?" I asked him rolling my eyes.
" You should go and get ready now. Bride must be ready by now." He said.
" So?" I asked him. " We still have enough time for that." I said to him.
" It's a hard work to make you wear dhoti anyways. We need time." He said and I rolled my eyes.
" Can't the wedding be done without it?" I asked him.
" No, it can't be done without dhoti. It's tradition." He said. I sighed deeply.
" I have seen Diya's wedding diary. Noel wasn't wearing dhoti in their wedding." I said to him.
" Because their's was the northern Indian wedding and yours is south Indian wedding. There are difference in both the cultures." He said. I sighed.
" Yeah, I need time to get along with this cultures and traditions. These are too complicated for me to figure out." I said.
" No worries. You will learn it soon." He said.
" Yeah. I have to. Otherwise things will keep making me confused." I said.
" Ok, done?" He said pointing my laptop.
" Need to send these mails." I said to him.
" Give it to me. I am doing that. You go. Get freshen up. Vivan has called me thrice already." He said.
" Thrice is not that much actually." I said.
" Are you going?" He asked me and I sighed.
" Ok. Stop whining like girls." I said.
" You just haven't said that." He said.
" Yeah, I did." I said.
" If you say that in front of your wife she will kill you." He said.
" I am not a stupid like you to do that." I said.
" Very well. Now go. Give it to me." He said and snatched the laptop from me. I sighed deeply.
" I hate you the most." I said getting up from the couch.
" Thanks, Bro. I love you too." He said smirking at me and I rolled my eyes.
" Come on. Go. You have to get ready. Fast." He said. I went into the washroom and took a shower.
I looked at myself in the mirror and sighed deeply. I saw the little boy who suffered a deadly event in his life. It was telling me some different story. I think it's time to come out of that. Divya was right. It was our fate and we have to accept that. We don't have any other option for that.
Divya. Yes, she must be waiting for me. I smiled at her thought. A beautiful future is waiting ahead. I just want to spend rest of my life that that amazing woman who is going to be my wife today. That's it. Nothing else can be more important than that. I should set myself free from that cage where I kept myself all these years. I have learn to do it. For her, for me, for us actually. I will try my best to do that. It's the thing I should do now. It's high time to do so.
I came out of the washroom and found Yash and Sanjay there with Kabir.
" You are late, yaar." Yash said.
" Yeah, right." I rolled my eyes. They helped me to get ready.
" Is it comfortable?" Kabir asked me and I nodded.
" Yeah. Perfect." I said to him. He nodded.
" We should leave now." Kabir said. I nodded and we came downstairs.
" Where are the others?" I asked them.
" They have already gone. I told you earlier." Kabir said. I sighed.
" Hmm... We should go then." I said. Yash's phone started to ring. He gulped showing us the caller ID.
" Vivan!!!" He said.
" Pick up the call and tell him that we are on the way." Kabir said. He nodded.
" Hello, Vivan. We are on our way." Yash said.
" Come before I shot you all." He said and I chuckled.
" We are coming." I said.
" Come before we get Divu married with someone else." He said.
" Like she will listen to you." I said.
" You don't know me properly yet, Bro. Come on. Guests are asking for the groom. And he is nowhere to be found though his family is here already." He said.
" Hmm... We will be there in 20 minutes." Kabir said.
" Ok, bye then." He said and hung up.
" Let's go now. He will kill us for real otherwise." Kabir said. I chuckled.
We came out of there and then reached the place where the wedding ceremony was going to take place. I took a deep breath before entering and they welcomed me in their traditional way.
" Ian, you are looking like a native guy." Marianne said. I rolled my eyes.
" He should because he is marrying a native girl. Simple." Yash said.
" You didn't get what I said." Marianne said.
" You guys can discuss it later. Let the groom come inside first." Vivan said and I chuckled.
I went inside and met the guests. I kept looking for her but she wasn't there yet.
" You can't see her yet." Kabir said and I rolled my eyes.
Soon the wedding rituals started and they were helping me with their words because I don't even know what those means. But I can feel it was something very sacred. I kept listening to them silently when they brought her there but there was a curtain between us. What the heck!!! Won't they let me see her?!!
" Patience has it's great reward." I heard Diya. Perks of having an evil sister.
The curtain was removed after awhile. My eyes stuck on her at once and they refused to leave her. She was looking divine. Her name was complementing her today. Totally divine beauty she was. If I knew she would look this beautiful as a bride I would have gotten married before. I mean, God!!! She has gotten everything I wished for. She has the power to handle me in every situation is blessing. It really is. Otherwise people can't stand me for long. May be I have changed a bit for her and she has got me people who loves me genuinely.
" Ahem, you can stare at her as much as you want after the wedding ceremony. Let's complete it first." Diya said and I rolled my eyes. She chuckled.
The wedding rituals started and it finished after awhile. Then we signed the papers and became spouse officially.
" Finally!!!" I heard Aradhya saying. I chuckled.
The post wedding rituals started. I just hold her hand and she looked at me smilingly. I smiled back seeing the same happiness in her eyes which was growing up inside me. I finally am happy that she is my wife now. My dear wife.
